NFL Week 4 Predictions & Against the Spread Picks

Another round in the books for the new NFL season, and it was another tough week for our tipsters.
Jonny bounced back from a horrendous Week 2, topping our mini leaderboard going 10-5 ATS and 9-6 SU, with Adam behind going 8-7 for both. It was a week to forget for both Neil and Alan, who went 5-10 and 6-9 ATS and SU.
On to our Week 4 NFL Predictions and Picks though and you can find out who we're backing below.

Picks ATS:
- Adam - Giants
- Alan - Giants
- Jonny - Giants
- Neil - Cowboys
Moneyline: Giants - 2/1, Cowboys - 2/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Cowboys
- Alan - Giants
- Jonny - Cowboys
- Neil - Cowboys
Comments: Both teams are 1-2 for the season, and I think this game will come down to defence.
Dallas are somehow on a two-game losing streak, despite the fact that Dak Prescott leads the league with 851 passing yards. Not to mention, Prescott has won 12 consecutive starts against the Giants, who are a one-man show on offence at the moment through rookie Malik Nabers.
However, the Giants sacked Deshaun Watson eight times in their victory over the Browns last Sunday, and they can certainly make life difficult for Prescott too.
I think the Cowboys edge this one, but I fancy the Giants to cover the spread - Jonny
Sunday - 18:00
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Saints
- Alan - Saints
- Jonny - Saints
- Neil - Saints
Moneyline: Falcons - 5/6, Saints - 1/1
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Saints
- Alan - Saints
- Jonny - Saints
- Neil - Saints
Comments: A virtual pick 'em in this tasty NFC South clash. New Orleans have notched up double the points of their rival thus far, and conceded an admittedly smaller but significant amount, too.
A narrow reverse at the hands of the Eagles won't in my view harm Saints' progress, though after my record last week I'm hardly in a position to be too dogmatic about anything!! Should be favs in my book (I just can't help myself) - Alan
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Bengals
- Alan - Bengals
- Jonny - Bengals
- Neil - Panthers
Moneyline: Panthers - 9/5, Bengals - 4/9
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Bengals
- Alan - Bengals
- Jonny - Bengals
- Neil - Panthers
Comments: Carolina surprised a few last week with the 36-year-old, much-travelled Andy Dalton under centre - in beating the Raiders. It was a welcome boost, as meanwhile the Bengals lost a high-scoring affair narrowly to the Commanders. What a start to the season for us poor pundits.
Joe Burrow, and especially considering his celebrated connection to Ja'Marr Chase, showed enough for me in that Bengals reverse to think that better days lie ahead, starting at the weekend - Alan
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Rams
- Alan - Rams
- Jonny - Rams
- Neil - Rams
Moneyline: Bears - 4/6, Rams - 5/4
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Rams
- Alan - Rams
- Jonny - Bears
- Neil - Rams
Comments: The Rams arrive fresh from a standout win against the 49ers, while the Bears are developing a habit of being ultra-competitive in low-scoring games, winning some and, er, the opposite.
Points could be hard to come by but encouraged by that last Rams scalp perhaps they can tame the Bears, too? Interesting... - Alan
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Packers
- Alan - Vikings
- Jonny - Vikings
- Neil - Packers
Moneyline: Packers - 20/29, Vikings - 6/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Packers
- Alan - Vikings
- Jonny - Vikings
- Neil - Packers
Comments: The 3-0 Vikings come into this NFC North match-up as the slight favourites but can take control of the division with a win in Wisconsin.
Standing in their way is their old adversary the 2-1 Green Bay Packers, who have won both games under Malik Willis, following the injury to Jordan Love in their opening loss.
Meanwhile Minnesota have adapted amazingly well to the departure of Kirk Cousins and new QB Sam Darnold is having a start he must only have dreamt of.
It remains unclear at the time of writing if Love will be back fit for this one - he's practicing and running drills but is limited in his training participation at the moment. Whether he makes it or not I'm going to go for the Cheeseheads to win this one in front of their own fans by a narrow victory. - Adam
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Jaguars
- Alan - Texans
- Jonny - Texans
- Neil - Texans
Moneyline: Texans - 1/3, Jaguars - 12/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Texans
- Alan - Texans
- Jonny - Texans
- Neil - Texans
Comments: A couple of weeks back, I was sat in Betfred's Manchester office talking with a fellow Jags fan about how this team should be a 10 or 11 win outfit. I'm now feeling a little less confident about my words that day. Jacksonville got given the treatment at Buffalo and the season is already heading towards crisis point. The running game is not there and the receivers are doing just about enough but the D has to step it up.
I'll take them to cover as it's a divisional game and they tend to be close but I'm not feeling great about it - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Steelers
- Alan - Colts
- Jonny - Steelers
- Neil - Colts
Moneyline: Colts - 21/20, Steelers - 4/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Steelers
- Alan - Colts
- Jonny - Steelers
- Neil - Colts
Comments: About the only success I was chuffed about last week was being pretty dogmatic about the Colts taking care of the Bears, which they managed despite an ordinary effort from much-touted QB Anthony Richardson (2 INT, no TD, completing 10 from 20 for just 167 yards).
He's better than that (famous last words), and someone is going to pay one of these weeks. I hope it's at weekend, and though this is another that's a virtual pick I'd definitely have Indy as favs at Lucas Oil in this one.
Fighting talk, given that the Steelers are 3 and 0... but have they been really tested yet? - Alan
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Broncos
- Alan - Broncos
- Jonny - Jets
- Neil - Broncos
Moneyline: Jets - 2/7, Broncos - 14/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Jets
- Alan - Jets
- Jonny - Jets
- Neil - Jets
Comments: I was really impressed with Denver's win over the Buccaneers last week, but the Jets' defence against a rookie QB could be a recipe for disaster for the visitors here.
Aaron Rodgers rolled back the years with a vintage performance against the Patriots, and they're looking to make it three wins on the spin here.
The Broncos will somehow have to slow down the four-time MVP for any chance of pulling off the upset as a huge road underdog, which I can't see happening. -Jonny
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Eagles
- Alan - Buccaneers
- Jonny - Eagles
- Neil - Buccaneers
Moneyline: Buccaneers - 23/20, Eagles - 8/11
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Eagles
- Alan - Buccaneers
- Jonny - Eagles
- Neil - Buccaneers
Comments: A rerun of last year's NFC wild-card matchup, which the Bucs won easily 32-9, thanks to a Baker Mayfield masterclass. It should be a lot closer this season though, with both franchises coming into this one with a 2-1 record.
The Eagles got back to winning ways last week, as Saquon Barkley picked up another two TD's as well as 147 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay were blown out by the Broncos, in a defeat not many predicted.
I'm taking Philly to build on that momentum and for Saquon to have another match-winning performance. - Adam
Sunday - 21:05
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Cardinals
- Alan - Commanders
- Jonny - Cardinals
- Neil - Cardinals
Moneyline: Cardinals - 8/15, Commanders - 6/4
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Cardinals
- Alan - Commanders
- Jonny - Cardinals
- Neil - Cardinals
Comments: I am all aboard the Kyler Murray train as the former number one overall pick is showing signs that he's heading back towards his best form. We saw plenty of scrambling on Sunday and despite losing to a good Lions side, I still think they are a play-off calibre side. I love Marvin Harrison despite the fact he went to that school in Ohio and nearly took him with my second-round pick in the work fantasy league. He's already balling out.
We also have seen another rookie impress recently and that is Commanders QB Jayden Daniels. His performance on Monday night was exemplary and gives hope to the franchise that they might finally have found a legitimate QB in the draft. If this game was in DC then my pick would be the other way but give me the home side and to cover - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Patriots
- Alan - 49ers
- Jonny - 49ers
- Neil - 49ers
Moneyline: 49ers - 1/5, Patriots - 19/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - 49ers
- Alan - 49ers
- Jonny - 49ers
- Neil - 49ers
Comments: The Niners don't seem to be the complete dominant force that they were last season, perhaps due to injuries to key starters, and haven't looked anywhere near their best.
However, this could be the perfect game to get back on track. New England have scored only one touchdown in their last seven quarters of play. This team also ranks dead last in total yards per game and passing yards per game, while ranking second-to-last in points scored at 13 per game.
San Francisco are too good to fall to 1-3 for the season, surely? Perhaps there's an outside chance of the Pats covering, I'm taking the 49ers ATS and SU here. - Jonny
Sunday - 21:25
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Chargers
- Alan - Chargers
- Jonny - Chiefs
- Neil - Chargers
Moneyline: Chargers - 16/5, Chiefs - 1/4
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Chiefs
- Alan - Chargers
- Jonny - Chiefs
- Neil - Chiefs
Comments: Oh Kansas City, how you continue to pickle my brain and simultaneously wind up the entire league.
The back-to-back Super Bowl champs still haven't found their mojo, yet have won three straight games with one-score, last-ditch clutch victories, showing all the grit and guile that Andy Reid demands on a weekly basis.
The Chargers looked poor against the Steelers last week, with Justin Herbert struggling to get the offensive game going and picked up a slight ankle knock, however, he should be fit to line up here.
Theres only so many times the Chiefs defense and Rashee Rice can bail out a offense that has zero long game currently but they still should have enough to beat Los Angeles in So-Fi. Just... - Adam
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Raiders
- Alan - Browns
- Jonny - Browns
- Neil - Browns
Moneyline: Raiders - 20/23, Browns - 20/21
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Raiders
- Alan - Browns
- Jonny - Browns
- Neil - Browns
Comments: This is one of the toughest games to call for me this week. I think the Browns stink on offense but their D is just filthy. I'm also not at all convinced by Vegas on either side of the ball. I'm not surprised the line is near enough a toss-up but I'll go with the team who can force turnovers and potentially get a short field or two in the visitors - Neil
Monday - 01:20
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Bills
- Alan - Ravens
- Jonny - Bills
- Neil - Ravens
Moneyline: Ravens - 8/11, Bills - 23/20
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Bills
- Alan - Ravens
- Jonny - Bills
- Neil - Ravens
Comments: What a game this could be.
The Ravens just about scraped their first win of the season over the Cowboys last week, but they very nearly made a mess of it. Meanwhile, the Bills have looked excellent, and come into this game 3-0.
How will Buffalo handle Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry? Especially since they've struggled against the running game so far this term, surrendering an average of 118.3 yards per game.
The Bills are coming off a short week after playing on Monday night in Week 3, which gives Baltimore an advantage, but I can't back against Josh Allen at the moment, as he's looking like the MVP favourite. - Jonny
Tuesday - 00:30
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Dolphins
- Alan - Dolphins
- Jonny - Dolphins
- Neil - Titans
Moneyline: Dolphins - 10/11, Titans - 10/11
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Dolphins
- Alan - Dolphins
- Jonny - Dolphins
- Neil - Titans
Comments: I'm the last one into the article to make my selections and everyone else has gone with Miami at home. I'm not willing to back Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley to get the job done. Whoever they put under Center will struggle and whilst it would be fair to say that Tennessee have not been great, they still have a highly-drafted QB who would have a winning record if not for bone-headed throws. If Will Levis can cut that out, the Titans get a big road W - Neil
Tuesday - 01:15
Picks ATS:
- Adam - Lions
- Alan - Lions
- Jonny - Seahawks
- Neil - Lions
Moneyline: Lions - 1/2, Seahawks - 13/8
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam - Lions
- Alan - Lions
- Jonny - Lions
- Neil - Lions
Comments: Week 4 is wrapped up with an intriguing looking game between one of only four undefeated teams in the Seattle Seahawks, as they travel to Ford Field to take on the 2-1 Detroit Lions.
Seattle's hot start has been primarily down to their defense, which has allowed just 14.3 points per game, while Detroit have been dealing with injuries to some of their key players.
The Lions games have all been decided by one-score margins and I think this will be the case here. They are 9-3 S/U at home when favourite since 2023 and I think they'll send their fans home happy once more here on Monday Night Football. - Adam
Season Records:
Against the Spread:
- Adam – 26-21
- Alan – 21-26
- Jonny – 21-26
- Neil – 22-25
Straight Up:
- Adam –27-20
- Alan – 24-23
- Jonny – 25-22
- Neil – 22-25
