The NFL draft has passed, and we are left with a ton of rookies placed upon their new franchises. Some teams came away with incredible talent, while others weren’t as lucky.

We've asked @NFLGirlUK aka Liz Fox to have a look at both the Winners and the Losers of the 2024 NFL Draft and in this column, she's going to talk about those who have had a good three days...

Super Bowl LIX Odds

  • Kansas City Chiefs @ 13/2

Let’s start with an easy one, the Chicago Bears. Having the number one overall pick, despite not being the worst team in the league, was tremendous for the Bears.

Thanks to the Carolina Panthers, Chicago was able to remain competitive and build up assets, and now they add Caleb Williams to the mix.

To make it even better, they held onto their draft pick at number nine overall and selected receiver Rome Odunze. Williams will be walking into an offense with weapons all around him such as Odunze, Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Gerald Everett, and D’Andre Swift. It maybe a step too far to think that this will be a one-year turnaround but the Bears are 33/1 to win the Super Bowl.

The next big winner of the draft is the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s very disappointing that the best team in the league just got even better, but it’s absolutely what happened. For some reason, the Buffalo Bills (a team that the Chiefs have beaten repeatedly in the play-offs) decided to trade down with the Chiefs and give up their pick.

Kansas City took that pick and selected receiver Xavier Worthy, who just broke the record for the fastest player to ever run at the NFL combine. Patrick Mahomes now has that guy to throw the ball to. The Chiefs get a win for this pick alone and they are 13/2 to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

We saw the Pittsburgh Steelers put together an excellent draft class as well. Pittsburgh got to rebuild their entire offensive line overnight. They selected Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, and Mason McCormick to bulk up and protect Russell Wilson and Justin Fields under center.

They also got tremendous value by selecting linebacker Payton Wilson in the fourth round, and receiver Roman Wilson around the same time. Rebuilding an offensive line, grabbing more weapons offensively, and getting a much-needed linebacker who might contribute this season is a great draft. The odds suggest though that it won't lead to an immediate turnaround, as they are 40/1 to win it all.

The Philadelphia Eagles had themselves a wonderful draft as well. Philadelphia has usually been keen on grabbing guys that start to slip, with the hopes of tapping into their sky-high potential. That was exactly what they did this year. They snagged Quinyon Mitchell in the first round and somehow landed Cooper DeJean afterward.

These two picks completely rebuilt their secondary that got exposed consistently in 2023. Their later picks were intriguing, though the value is currently unknown. Grabbing Jalyx Hunt, the guy who transitioned from safety into an edge linebacker is an interesting pickup. They also got running back Will Shipley late in the draft to possibly help out right away in the offense.

Oh, and we can’t forget that they took receiver, Johnny Wilson, in the SIXTH round alongside Jerremiah Trotter Jr. They filled many of the holes that they needed to fill coming in and got a ton of big-name prospects to add to an already ridiculously talented roster on paper. If just one of those cornerbacks’ hits, then this secondary looks a lot better.

Philly are 14/1 to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy and they look like very reasonable odds.
