NBA Betting Tips: Nuggets vs Rockets the pick of Monday’s action

After the drama of the NBA Cup semi-finals at the weekend, the regular-season action continues on Monday night with a five-game slate.
I've taken a look at tonight's matches and picked out three NBA betting tips for you to consider, which you can find below.
NBA Betting Tips - Monday, December 15
- Boston Celtics -2.5 (vs Detroit Pistons) @ 1/1
- Miami Heat -4.5 (vs Toronto Raptors) @ 8/11
- Houston Rockets +1.5 (@ Denver Nuggets) @ 10/11
*odds correct at time of publication
Boston Celtics -2.5 (vs Detroit Pistons) @ 1/1
My first pick comes from an early Christmas cracker from the Eastern Conference between the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons are currently sat in top spot in the East, with a record of 20-5, while Boston have recovered after a inconsistent start to the campaign and are now up to third with a record of 15-10.
Detroit travel to TD Garden looking for their fourth-straight triumph and they're playing with plenty of confidence, while the Celtics' recent five-game winning run was ended by Milwaukee on Thursday.
Boston did end Detroit's 13-game winning run when the sides met at the end of November and I fancy them to halt the Pistons in their tracks again on Monday night.

Miami Heat -4.5 (vs Toronto Raptors) @ 8/11
My second pick comes from another all-Eastern Conference match-up between the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors.
Both sides will be well-rested heading into Monday's clash on the back of NBA Cup quarter-final exits last week, and the five-day break came at the right time for Miami and Toronto as both are currently on four-game losing streaks.
There's only one game that separates both sides in the Eastern Conference standings, so this game could go either way. I'm going to side with the hosts here as they're averaging more points-per-game than Monday's opponents - they actually rank third in the league for that metric - and should have too much firepower for the Raptors.

Houston Rockets +1.5 (@ Denver Nuggets) @ 10/11
Finally, another mouth-watering contest is on offer here as the Denver Nuggets host fellow Western Conference outfit the Houston Rockets.
The Nuggets currently lead the NBA in average points-per-game (125.5), while the Rockets aren't too far behind in that department themselves (120.6).
Surprisingly, Denver have lost their last four at home, and breaking that run doesn't get any easier with Houston coming to town. The Rockets are 8-4 on the road this season, and I think they'll have enough to cover the spread here, even if they lose the game.
The Rockets have five players averaging double-digits in terms of points scored, with two of those 20+, and Tari Eason, who's been something of a super sub this year, is hoping to return from injury on Monday night, which'll give Houston a huge boost off the bench.
