NBA Betting Tips: Clippers to continue hot streak

More NBA action heading our way on Wednesday night, as the trade deadline rapidly approaches. We've picked out our best bets for the upcoming games.

Warriors @ 76ers - Warriors (-2.5) @ EVS

The slumping Philadelphia 76ers welcome a surging Golden State Warriors side on Wednesday night, and it's fair to say that Philly just aren't the same team without their star man Joel Embiid.

The reigning MVP has undergone successful surgery on the lateral meniscus in his left knee, and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. The Sixers can only hope that Embiid is healthy enough to join them for a long playoff run.

Philadelphia are 4-11 without the big man this season, with the most recent outing against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday ending in defeat. Meanwhile, the Warriors will arrive in Philadelphia in search of their second win in a row and their fourth victory in the last five games.

I fancy Golden State to continue building momentum here, especially as Philly will sorely miss Embiid.

Hawks @ Celtics - Celtics (-11.5) @ 10/11

The Boston Celtics will attempt to improve to 4-2 on their current seven-game homestand when they face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

The Celtics have been dominant on their home patch this season, going 23-3 so far and they responded to a surprise defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers with a thumping 131-91 blowout win over Memphis on Sunday.

The Hawks had their four-game winning streak end with a 149-144 loss to the visiting LA Clippers on Monday, but they've been poor on their travels this season, winning just 10 of their 24 road matches.

Defensively, Atlanta are vulnerable, conceding 120 points per 100 possessions, so I'm expecting the Boston offense to feast and cover a large spread of 11.5.

Pelicans @ Clippers - Clippers (-6.5) @ 10/11

The Clippers return home Wednesday to play host to the New Orleans Pelicans, which should be a cracking matchup, in my opinion.

LA went 6-1 on their recent road trip, which has seen them rise to the top of the Western Conference standings, with their big three of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and James Harden all thriving.

The Pelicans arrive in Los Angeles on a three-game winning streak and will provide a stern test for the Clippers defense that surrendered 144 points against the Hawks on Monday.

However, I can't see anything other than a Clippers victory here. They've been excellent since the start of December, going an NBA-best 26-5, and I don't think New Orleans has enough firepower to upset the LA defense.
