There's more NBA action heading our way on Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics look to eliminate the Cleveland Cavaliers in game five of their Eastern Conference series, while the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder can't be split heading into this evening's match-up.

My NBA betting tips for Wednesday will focus on those games, and if you were with us yesterday, you'll know that I tipped up Denver to cover the spread against Minnesota, however Indiana were comfortably beaten by the Knicks.

NBA Betting Tips - Wednesday, May 15

  • Boston Celtics -15.5 vs Cleveland Cavaliers @ 1/1
  • Oklahoma City Thunder -4.5 vs Dallas Mavericks @ 1/1

Boston Celtics -15.5 vs Cleveland Cavaliers @ 1/1

The top-seeded Boston Celtics stormed to a 3-1 series lead on Monday with a 109-102 victory in Cleveland, and the C's now have the chance to close out the Eastern Conference semi-final with a win on their home floor.

Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell was absent for game four with a left thigh strain, which was a huge miss for the Cavs, and it remains to be seen whether the All-Star guard will feature at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

It's hard to side with the Cavs in this one, even with such a large point spread. The uncertainty surrounding Mitchell's availability plays a large role in this, but also the Celtics had the best home record in the NBA during the regular season. Boston lost game two in this series at TD Garden by 24 points, so they return home on Wednesday night with a chip on their shoulder.

In addition, the Cavs are struggling to score - they're averaging under 100 points-per-game in the play-offs and face one of the top defences in the NBA here. I struggle to see anything other than a comfortable Boston win.

Boston Celtics -15.5 at 1-1

Oklahoma City Thunder -4.5 vs Dallas Mavericks @ 1/1

I wouldn't be surprised if this series goes down to the wire, after an enthralling first four games between these two sides.

The series is currently tied up at 2-2, after the Oklahoma City Thunder claimed a 100-96 road victory on Monday night to swing the momentum of the series back in their favour heading into game five.

OKC rallied back from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter on Monday and an eight-point gap with fewer than eight minutes remaining in regulation time, and they now have the chance to put the Dallas Mavericks on the brink of elimination.

The Thunder were one of the best teams at home during the regular season, sporting a 36-9 record, and although the Mavericks managed to steal game two on the road, it'll be difficult to repeat that feat once again on Wednesday night.

Dallas are also contending with numerous injuries with Maxi Kleber out for game five with a shoulder issue, and superstar guard Luka Doncic continues to play through a knee sprain.

The first four games of this series has shown that anything can happen, but I believe that Oklahoma City have a slight advantage heading into game five, especially being at home. I'm going to take them to cover the spread, here as they have done in seven of their last 10 outings.

Oklahoma City Thunder -4.5 at 1-1
