We're into the final week of the NBA regular season, as several teams continue to battle it out for a place in the play-offs, and there's plenty of action to enjoy on Tuesday night.

A Californian dust-up between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers is one of the standout games, along with the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference going head-to-head in Milwaukee. Those two matches, as well as Miami's trip to Atlanta and Dallas' clash with Charlotte, feature in our NBA betting tips for Tuesday.

  • Boston Celtics -3.5 vs Milwaukee Bucks @ 11/10
  • Miami Heat -3.5 vs Atlanta Hawks @ 10/11

Dallas Mavericks -12.5 vs Charlotte Hornets @ 10/11

The Hornets will welcome the red-hot Mavericks to the Spectrum Center on Tuesday night in their home finale.

Dallas have won 14 of their last 16 matches, giving them a two-game cushion on the sixth-seeded Phoenix Suns, and they've already beaten Charlotte 124-118 in their first meeting back in November.

The Hornets have nothing to lose at this point and were eliminated from any postseason talk a long time ago. Playing with no pressure has resulted in a win over Orlando and a couple of three-point defeats over their last three games, but Dallas are a far superior outfit that Charlotte, so I'm taking them to cover here at 10/11 - or a theoretical chance of 52.4%.y

Boston Celtics -3.5 vs Milwaukee Bucks @ 11/10

On paper, this is a mouth-watering contest between the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference.

However, the Celtics are firmly in cruise control heading into this contest, as they currently have the best record in the NBA, and the Bucks are doing all they can to hold onto the two seed after losing their last four outings.

These last four matches of the season could be crucial for Milwaukee as if they don't get their act together, they could slip all the way to the sixth seed. They'll be looking nervously over their shoulder at Orlando and New York in the standings, and I struggle to see them prevailing here, as Boston are elite on both sides of the basketball.

Miami Heat -3.5 vs Atlanta Hawks @ 10/11

The Hawks have secured a place in the play-in tournament, while Miami are craving an automatic play-off spot, and still have an outside chance of finishing in the sixth seed in the East.

The Heat have no margin for error here either, after losing to Indiana on Sunday meaning that the Pacers are one-and-a-half games ahead in the standings for that coveted sixth spot.

Of course, Miami were part of the play-in tournament last year, and went on to reach the NBA Finals, so the path ahead may not be as daunting for the Heat as it would be for other sides. Nevertheless, if it can be avoided altogether, I'm sure Miami would take that as it would be extra rest heading into the play-offs.

That's why I'm taking them to cover here against an Atlanta side who's fate has already been sealed.

Golden State Warriors +2.5 vs Los Angeles Lakers @ 10/11

For now, the Lakers and Warriors have at least wrapped up a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament as the regular season draws to a close, but there's still a very slim outside chance that both teams climb into the automatic play-off berths, depending on other results. Both sides will give one last attempt at simplifying their path forward here.

LA were left reeling from their recent loss against Minnesota, which marked a missed opportunity to move closer to the sixth-seed Phoenix Suns, but they were without star duo LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who look set to return for this contest.

Likewise, Stephen Curry was also rested in Golden State's victory over Utah last time out, which also secured the Warriors' place in the play-in tournament, but the Crypto.com Arena isn't usually a happy hunting ground for the point guard.

However, the Warriors have played better on the road than at home this term, and won the most recent contest between the sides in Los Angeles 128-121, so I'm taking them to cover on Tuesday night.
