We were so close to landing a full house yesterday - we just needed another two points for Cleveland and our 5/1 treble would have flew in.

I'm back again with another trifecta for tonight's NBA play-off action and there's another three games to focus on. Check out my NBA betting tips, as well as the reasoning, below.

NBA Betting Tips - Thursday, April 24

  • Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder - Thunder (-8.5) @ 5/6
  • Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets - Clippers (-6.5) @ 6/5

Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks - Knicks (-1.5) @ 10/11

The Knicks need to change something offensively for game three of this series. For the second game in a row, they've relied on the offensive output of Jalen Brunson, and although they got away with it in game one, the lack of help from his teammates really hindered New York last time out.

Their bench unit also only produced eight points, which simply isn't enough in the post-season.

The Pistons will be on cloud nine after their victory in game two - their first play-off win in over 15 years. Cade Cunningham is becoming a star before our very eyes and the Knicks had no answer for the point guard last time out.

However, I do believe the Knicks have the better roster in this match-up, and if they make the correct adjustments, they should win this series in five or six games. For how well the Pistons have played this year, it's still a young and inexperienced squad, who don't have too much, if any, play-off experience under their belts.

The Knicks made the Eastern Conference semi-finals last year, and will have belief that they can get back there. I'm taking them to win by two points or more to cover the spread on Thursday night in a pivotal game three (00:00, live on TNT Sports 1).

Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder - Thunder (-8.5) @ 5/6

The Thunder are looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in this series, which isn't a surprise to many as they're statistically the best team in the NBA right now.

Oklahoma City dominated 131-80 in game one before coasting to a 118-99 victory on Tuesday night, and I struggle to see Memphis mounting any sort of comeback here.

The scariest part about OKC's dominance is that MVP-favourite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hasn't really got going yet. The 26-year-old averaged 32.7 points per game during the regular season, and has averaged just 21.0 points per game so far in the play-offs.

Another dominant win for the Thunder looks to be on the cards here, which is why I've opted for them to cover the spread.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets - Clippers (-6.5) @ 6/5

Game three against Denver will be the Clippers' first-ever play-off contest in their new arena, the Intuit Dome.

The series is currently tied one win apiece, and I think the Clippers can take control of proceedings in front of their own fans.

LA did just about enough to edge another closely-contested affair in game two in Denver, with Kawhi Leonard serving up a 39-point clinic. The LA native has shown how big of a difference he makes to this Clippers team when he's healthy.

Home advantage will prove to be a crucial factor, in my opinion - LA boasts a 30-11 record in their own arena and I think they'll cover the spread in front of a ruckus crowd.
