The NBA returns on Monday night with a 10-game slate, as we rapidly approach the post-season. I've picked out a 7/1 treble for my NBA betting tips to kickstart the week, and you can find my reasoning below.

NBA Betting Tips - Monday, March 17

  • New York Knicks vs Miami Heat - Knicks -8.5 @ 11/10
  • Portland Trail Blazers vs Washington Wizards - Trail Blazers -4.5 @ 10/11
  • Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies - Grizzlies on moneyline @ 6/5

Treble @ 7.82/1

New York Knicks vs Miami Heat - Knicks -8.5 @ 11/10

The Miami Heat travel to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks at the relatively friendly tip off time of 23:30, live on TNT Sports 1.

The Knicks have just spent their last four games on a West Coast road trip, trying to figure out their offence without star point guard Jalen Brunson, who's currently sidelined with an ankle sprain.

Losing three of five on their West Coast trek didn't do much damage to the play-off positioning for New York, and they have the chance to get back into the win column against a free-falling Miami team.

The Heat are 4-14 since trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, and seven of Miami's last 14 losses have been by double digits. In addition, the Heat need to go 12-3 down the final stretch of the season to avoid their first losing season since 2018/19.

Even without Brunson, I still expect New York to have too much firepower for Miami and to cover convincingly at 11/10, giving them an implied probability of 47.6%.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Washington Wizards - Trail Blazers -4.5 @ 10/11

This match-up is the second of a back-to-back for the Portland Trail Blazers, as they beat the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Lucky for them, they're taking on arguably the worst team in the NBA in the form of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are 8-25 on the road and they'll be missing a bunch of key players on Monday night.

Looks a fairly straightforward pick to me this one - I'm taking Portland to cover the spread.

Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies - Grizzlies on moneyline @ 6/5

My final pick comes from the contest between the Sacramento Kings and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ja Morant is expected to be absent for the Grizzlies, but I'm not expecting it to be an issue as Jaren Jackson Jr. is back on the court, and the Kings have been bang average this year.

Sacramento are 33-33 for the season and 16-15 at home, and they’ve lost four straight games. Time is of the essence for the Kings as their grip on a play-off spot diminished over the past week.

The Grizzlies are 18-14 on the road this year, and I think they're decent value on the moneyline at 6/5.
