Eagles vs Bills Prediction: Philly to win but points to be a plenty

The second live Sky game on Sunday should be a high-scoring thriller as the Eagles take on the Bills.
@NFLGirlUK takes us through the Eagles and Bills and picks out two bets to consider...
Eagles vs Bills Betting Tips:
Both the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles picked up massive wins last weekend. Buffalo stopped themselves from falling under .500 by stomping the New York Jets, while the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs on the road in a rematch of the previous Super Bowl. Morale should be awfully high for each team, but who can keep that going?
Buffalo has been inconsistent offensively and defensively throughout the entire 2023 campaign so far. Josh Allen in particular has really been a worry. Yes, he’s thrown for 22 touchdowns and 2,875 yards.
The problem is that he’s also thrown 12 interceptions and has fumbled four times. The turnovers keep on killing them, and part of that fell on play calling. After all, the team would absolutely refuse to stick with the ground game, despite James Cook taking 137 carries for 688 yards coming into this game. He’s averaging five yards per carry in this offense, yet they just refuse to plan a game around his ability behind this offensive line.
If they want to win this game, getting a rushing attack going will make their jobs a lot easier. Though their offense isn’t my concern for this particular matchup. It’s their defense that worries me here.
The addition of Rasul Douglas at the trade deadline will absolutely help them against Philadelphia, but this is still a relatively unproven group that’s lost a ton of talent. The game will be won or lost on that Buffalo defense.
On the other side of things, the Eagles have a lot to be happy about. They're 9-1 this season and certainly not playing their best football. Jalen Hurts has had a relatively mediocre season statistically, throwing for 2,497 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Of course, adding nine touchdowns rushing helps his stats, but almost all of them come from the tush push at the goal line, which is simply unstoppable.
Now, he’s not at all having a bad year, we all just know that there’s another level of play he hasn’t hit yet, which is still yet to come in 2023. Maybe this is the game that he just tears up through the air, and it will help that AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are out there running routes for him.
My concern for the Eagles is their secondary. After Avonte Maddox went down with an injury, the team added Kevin Byard at the deadline to spice up the back end. The problem is that this is a team that continues to be bad against the pass. They give up the fifth-most passing yards per game, and it would be a whole lot more if it weren’t for their pass rush being incredibly talented.
If the pass rush can’t get home, this will be a long defensive game for them. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid, and Gabe Davis are going to get themselves some separation against this secondary. Giving them extra time will allow them to move up and down the field at will.
I foresee the Eagles winning this game due to the Bills overall inconsistency struggles, but I really do think that this is Buffalo’s chance to show the world that they belong in the Super Bowl conversation. Allen and the offense have a great matchup against the Eagles secondary, they have to take advantage.
Match Odds:
The line on this game feels a bit weird when you consider that home-advantage is generally worth three points. With Buffalo on the road and only getting 3.5, it suggests that the traders and the market see this game as a pick 'em at this point. Buffalo are Super Bowl contenders but the Eagles have looked considerably better through ten games.
Philly are 4/7 to win the game straight-up with Buffalo coming it at 7/5. Plenty of points are expected as the over/under line has been set at 48.5.
Bet 1 - Buffalo Bills over 25 Points @ 7/5
I like Philly to win but I think we see two offenses that just hit a high gear on Sunday evening. The best value that I've noticed in the market is on the Buffalo Bills Points 23-25 tab where you can get the visitors to score Over 25 at a pretty decent 7/5.
The new OC Joe Brady was the man behind the Joe Burrow led LSU Tigers who dominated College Football in their National Championship run a few years back. I think he schemes up a plan that sees Josh Allen take big shots and puts up points.
Bet 2 - Stefon Diggs anytime TD scorer @ 5/4
If I like the Bills to expose the Eagles secondary and their best receiver is odds-against to score anytime then I think we can put two and two together.
This has not been a vintage season for Stefon Diggs but he still has speed, is a great route-runner and can catch anything remotely near him. It is shocking that he's not had a 100 yard game since the middle of October. Sunday feels like a great time for him to hit the high-notes once more.
