What a game we have in store for the late window on Sunday live on Sky Sports.

@NFLGirlUK is here with her preview of the Cowboys @ Dolphins and we've picked out a couple of odds-against bets for you to consider...

Dolphins vs Cowboys Betting Tips:

  • Back Dallas Cowboys -2.5 on the Alternative Line 2 @ 6/5
  • Back Over 53.5 Total Points @ 7/5

Both the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins have dealt with their fair share of haters this season. Much of that hate and doubt has stemmed from neither team being able to rise to the occasion. As people have claimed, neither team has what it takes to win big games, despite the fact that they’ve each had a phenomenal season.

Looking at the Cowboys first, they are the most confusing of them all. Every time they have faced off with a team that has a losing record, they’ve just dominated everybody.

The one exception to that is Week 2, when they lost to the Arizona Cardinals randomly. It was one of those head scratching losses that made everybody think they were correct about the Cowboys ceiling. Then, a few weeks ago, they dominated the Philadelphia Eagles to change their minds.

Unfortunately, one week later, they were blasted by the Buffalo Bills to prove again that they can’t compete. It's just a constant cycle back and forth. We don’t know what type of team we’ll see on a game-to-game basis; we don’t know how good Dak Prescott can be consistently, and the defense has been exposed at sporadic times.

There’s genuine Super Bowl contention on this roster, yet we just can’t say for sure what version of their team we’ll watch. If Prescott can’t live up to the hype this weekend, it’s going to be a hard argument that the Cowboys are ready for the big stage.

As for the Dolphins, they’ve equally struggled against the best of the best. Miami has four losses right now, three of them have come on the road, and three of them have come against teams with winning records.

People have been saying all season that their situation only looks good because of their weaker schedule. And that Tua Tagovailoa in particular only has the numbers he has due to Tyreek Hill being his teammate.

Miami doesn’t want to keep falling into this exact same category week after week, and a huge win over Dallas would mean something for them. This is especially true with them being just two games over the Buffalo Bills in the division race, plus they have to play them one more time down the stretch.

A loss here and another to Buffalo would mean that they could potentially not even win their division. Getting home-field advantage helps them in this scenario though, as they’ve won 18 of their last 21 games. Tagovailoa also has a winning percentage of .792 at home, the second best among quarterbacks that have posted at least 20 home starts. This team, just like Dallas, needs a prove-it game.

This is just one of those matchups that shouldn’t ever be gambled on considering the inconsistency of each group. With all of this being said, If I had to choose one, I’d roll with the Cowboys. Their physicality might be a little too much for a Dolphins team that could have a limited Tyreek due to his injury. However, the Dolphins offense is always a threat to score large amounts.

Match Odds:

The markets are really unsure about this one as Miami are just about the favourites but when the line is only Dallas -1.5 then you know a tight matchup is expected. Dallas are 5/6 on the spread with the Dolphins available to back at Evens. The Money Line is pretty much a pick 'em at 20/23 for the home side and 20/21 for the visitors.

Offense is expected is flat-out dominate as the Total Points line is a sky-high 49.5.

Bet 1 - Dallas Cowboys -2.5pts on the Alternative Line 2 @ 6/5

Giving up that one extra point on the spread moves the odds from 5/6 to 6/5 and that seems like a good move to me.

The Tyreek Hill injury cloud at the time of writing certainly influences this selection but just as importantly, so does what we saw from Dallas a week ago. They need to bounceback from that dismantling at the hands of Buffalo and once again prove that they are genuine Super Bowl contenders.

Bet 2 - Over 53.5 Total Points @ 7/5

This is a game for offense to shine and this is why even with a high Total Points line number, I'm pushing it an extra four points to give a second odds-against selection of the preview.

Dak Prescott and his Dallas Cowboys teammates have been scoring points left, right and centre so far this season. The ten-point output last week was very much an anomaly and they'll do far better on Sunday I'm sure. Couple that with what Miami do at home and this is a game to attack the over hard.
