Adeleye is out in front at 1/6. ‘TKV’ is 4/1 to engineer the surprise while a stalemate is 14/1.
David Adeleye vs Jeamie Tshikeva Fight Preview
Henry Cooper, Lennox Lewis, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois. There is just something special about this championship. The British heavyweight belt has decorated some great fighters’ resumes over the years.
Now Adeleye and TKV fight to add their names to that laundry list of superstars and legends. This title is more than a stepping stone. It can be a career milestone and an achievement that is treasured by fighters long after their ring career is over. Fighters like Dillian Whyte, Danny Williams and Derek Chisora might not have ever won the world title, but they count the British belt among a laundry list of career accomplishments.
Against that historic backdrop, these two heavyweights look to take it to the next level in an exciting scrap in Manchester. Adeleye has competed for this title before, in a fight with Fabio Wardley in which he defended his own WBO European title. The vacant Commonwealth strap was also on the line.
The much-hyped battle of the unbeaten knockout artists in Saudi Arabia was won by Wardley. The Ipswich man used the fight as a springboard, contesting a thriller with Frazer Clarke before taking him out in the opening round of their rematch. Wardley is now on the cusp of a world title shot.
Adeleye was left in a position where he needed to rebuild after that chastening loss. The young heavyweight took a year out of the ring before knocking Solomon Dacres out in one round last December. The previously-undefeated Dacres had been making some noise in the division so this was a quality win.
TKV is also coming off a solid victory. He was made to work hard by the tough and game Michael Webster. But ultimately, Tshikeva lowered the boom in the ninth round to secure an eighth career victory.
This is an interesting match-up. Adeleye was tipped for great things pre-Wardley and many were picking him to win that battle of the unbeatens. TKV is exciting if lacking in polish. His size and power make him a match for anyone and his only defeat came via a cut suffered against Igor Adiel Macedo.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
It is an oversimplification to reduce a heavyweight fight to a battle of who lands first. But I truly think this will be all about the bombs.
The pair are similar in height, around 6’4, though TKV usually weighs in close to 30 pounds heavier. Both are known for knockouts rather than the sweet science. Neither has been past the ninth round before. I feel like both men are going to throw bombs before either exhaustion or unconsciousness sets in. This should be a nailbiter.

David Adeleye vs Jeamie Tshikeva Predictions
Both these men have strengths and weaknesses that complement each other in many ways. Neither is an elite technical boxer and I mean no insult by that. But each man works to create openings for their finishing blows. A means to an end, writ large with often-brutal efficiency.
TKV has the advantage of knowing Adeleye has been stopped in the traditional sense. A cut stoppage doesn’t quite hit the same and Adeleye must be wondering if Tshikeva can be taken out.
I think he can. Adeleye is cleaner in his work and I think he can find the shots to end this. He might have to take some back to get there, but I reckon Adeleye does this at 1/6.
