It wasn't the start I was hoping for at the US Open on Monday, with all three of my selections failing to land. Things can only get better, right? So I am back with another three tips for Tuesday's action, and I have been more calculated with my picks.

Read on for my tennis betting tips from day two at Flushing Meadows.

Tennis Betting Tips - Tuesday, August 27

  • Jack Draper to beat Zhizen Zhang 3-1 @ 5/2
  • Katie Boulter to beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 2-0 @ 5/4
  • Alex Michelsen to beat Eliot Spizzirri 3-1 @ 13/5

Jack Draper to beat Zhizen Zhang 3-1 @ 5/2

Jack Draper has been impressive at the US Open in the last two years, reaching the third and fourth rounds respectively. He recently enjoyed a good run in Cincinnati, beating both Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime in three sets, so he has had plenty of good preparation for his return to Flushing Meadows.

Zhizen Zhang will provide a stern first-round test for the Brit, but one that I am expecting him to overcome. Zhang has the talent and intelligence to punish Draper for any mistakes he makes, but with the confidence that his opponent has heading into this Grand Slam, it should be enough to carry him through to the next round, as he aims to go further than the fourth round.

This ought to be a fascinating spectacle, but I am backing Draper to get the job done in four sets.

This has been Katie Boulter's best season to date but she is still yet to make her mark on the Grand Slam stage. Could this be the year? There are some concerns for her because of her disappointing form since winning the Nottingham Open in June, but I think she can bounce back on a stage where she is desperate to prove herself.

She likes to play with power and this might be too much for her opponent, Aliaksandra Sasnovich, to handle, but the Belarusian likes to put balls into play, which could in turn make things difficult for the Brit. Sasnovich has a lot of experience at this level but it has been a long time since she defeated a top-ranked player, and that wait might go on. I am putting my faith in Boulter to win in straight sets.

Tuesday offers up an all-American showdown between Alex Michelsen and Eliot Spizzirri and it is another match that shouldn't be short of entertainment. Spizzirri performed well in qualifying to reach the main draw for the first time in his career, but he is up against a player with much more experience than him, that should ultimately be the difference.

Michelsen will be feeling confident despite losing the final at Winston-Salem last weekend, and the short turnover could play a part here. The pressure will be on him against Spizzirri, which he should thrive off, but his compatriot can certainly make him work for the victory.

This may only be Michelsen's second time competing in the main draw at Flushing Meadows, but the experiences he has gained over the past year should equip him to go further than the second round, which he reached 12 months ago.

I have gone for him to win 3-1 here.
