Match Betting - Gabriel Diallo (CAN) to beat Jaume Munar (ESP) @ 4/5
Traditionally, Jaume Munar has struggled on the hard courts, feeling much more at home on clay. However, he has secured some notable victories on this surface in 2025, beating Daniil Medvedev 6-2, 6-3 in Miami in March, and recently made it to the quarter-finals of the Winston-Salem Open after overcoming Mattia Bellucci (6-3, 6-1) and Lorenzo Sonego (4-6, 6-4, 6-1).
The Spaniard made a fairly emphatic start to his US Open campaign on Monday, knocking out Jaime Faria following a four-set win (6-0, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2) in just two hours and 46 minutes, with the first two sets lasting just 28 and 36 minutes, respectively.
Munar will have to raise his level further on Thursday, though, as he takes on Gabriel Diallo in the second round.
Diallo also won his opening match in four sets, beating a spirited Damir Dzumhur 7-6, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
The Canadian has met Munar twice before, winning the first head-to-head on the Miami hard courts in August last year (6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5), before sending him out of the grass-court Mallorca Open on June 23 (7-5, 6-3).
Diallo has suffered with inconsistency over the last couple of months, failing to win back-to-back matches since following up his victory over Munar in Mallorca with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 triumph over Laslo Djere the following day.
However, it should be noted how difficult his second-match draws have been on this North American swing, with Ben Shelton, Tommy Fritz, and Jannik Sinner, all top-10 players, knocking him out in Washington, Toronto, and Cincinnati, respectively.
Munar is a much more beatable opponent, especially on this surface, and if Diallo can keep his own serve in check, the Canadian should avoid another early exit.

Set Betting - Alexander Zverev (GER) 3-0 vs Jacob Fearnley (GBR) @ 5/6
Jacob Fearnley has experienced a rapid rise in the past year, attaining a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 49 on June 9 before dropping down slightly to his current position of 53 in the Live Rankings.
The 24-year-old made further progress this week by securing the first US Open main-draw win of his career, beating veteran Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 7-5, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in the first round.
A big concern, though, was his first-service percentage of below 50% across the opening three sets, which led to 16 double faults.
Fearnley sorted himself out in the fourth set, but there are glaring issues for the British No. 2 to address ahead of a second-round meeting with number three seed Alexander Zverev, who is in terrific form on this North American swing.
The 28-year-old German has only lost two of his last 11 matches, making the semi-finals of the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open before overcoming Alejandro Tabilo 6-2, 7-6, 6-4 in the US Open first round earlier this week.
Zverev, a former US Open finalist (2020), has only dropped a set to one opponent in his last six matches, suffering a 4-6, 3-6 defeat to World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in Cincinnati earlier this month, when he was clearly struggling with an injury towards the end.
After losing in the Australian Open final earlier this year, Zverev is still searching for a maiden Grand Slam title, and while that wait is unlikely to end in New York next month, he at least looks set for a safe passage to the third round.
Zverev has faced Fearnley twice already on hard courts this year, beating the Brit 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 at the Australian Open in January, and winning 6-2, 6-4 at the Miami Open in March.
Another straight-sets victory looks likely for the German on Thursday.

Set Betting - Jack Draper (GBR) 3-0 vs Zizou Bergs (BEL) @ 11/10
After taking more than a month off to recover from an arm injury, British No. 1 Jack Draper returned to singles action on Monday, beating Argentine Federico Agustin Gomez 6-4, 7-5, 6-6, 6-2 in the US Open first round.
While dropping a set at this early stage may seem concerning for the World No. 5, Draper came out after and outlined the importance of a fairly gruelling encounter. "I needed tennis in my legs," he said. "I needed to play a three-hour match. I was almost a bit happy when I lost the third [set], because my level wasn't amazing."
Draper's serving speeds were down roughly 10mph on his usual average of the mid-110s or low-120s as he made his return to action after 53 days out, but the 23-year-old didn't seem overly concerned.
"I've definitely had to rein in my serve a little bit to make sure to keep the pain down," Draper explained. "At the same time, though, I feel like my accuracy is almost a bit better at times."
On Thursday, Draper will take on Zizou Bergs, who outclassed Chun Hsin Tseng 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 in his first-round match earlier this week.
The Belgian had lost nine of his previous 10 matches, so a straight-sets victory was just what the doctor ordered.
However, beating a player ranked outside the top 100, one who was also on a run of nine defeats from his last 10 contests, does little to fuel belief ahead of a second-round meeting with the number five seed, Draper, who has a 2-0 record against the 26-year-old, albeit both previous matches came in 2022.
Draper's lack of match practice could be seen as an issue, handing Bergs a small window of opportunity, but I expect the Brit to breeze through this tie, exposing the Belgian's obvious fragilities this season on the biggest stage.
