Tennis Betting Tips: Thursday’s picks come from Cincinnati

My tennis betting tips for Thursday focus on ATP Cincinnati as players continue their preparations on the hard courts for the upcoming US Open.

Yesterday saw plenty of upsets, and there's some big names in action as we approach the business end of the tournament.

Set Betting - Stefanos Tsitsipas to beat Jack Draper 2-1 @ 13/5

My first pick comes from the clash between British number one Jack Draper and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Draper barely scraped through his opening-round match against Jaume Munar, however, this match-up should favour him on the faster courts. He has the tools to apply pressure to Tsitsipas, and actually leads the head-to-head tally - Draper won the only previous meeting between the pair at the Canadian Open in August 2022.

However, the Brit looked like he'd run out of gas at the end of his victory over Munar, and truth be told, he's looked unconvincing all through the hard court season. This looks like an opportunity for the Greek to win back some hard-court confidence - I'm taking Tsitsipas in three sets.

Set Betting - Carlos Alcaraz to beat Gael Monfils 2-0 @ 2/7

Gael Monfils takes on Carlos Alcaraz in Cincinnati, and this could be an entertaining watch.

Both players love to keep the crowd on the edge of their seats, and Monfils looks to be in sharp form, evidenced by his first-round win. The Frenchman took out Montreal champion Alexei Popyrin in straight sets, while Alcaraz had a bye and hasn’t played since the Olympics.

Alcaraz isn’t at his most comfortable on the Cincinnati courts, but that didn’t stop him from almost winning the event last year. He'll inevitably be a bit rusty after a prolonged break from the Olympics, but I'm still expecting the Spaniard to win in straight sets.

Set Betting - Felix Auger-Aliassime to beat Casper Ruud 2-1 @ 3/1

Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime will be a fascinating match up, as shown by their head-to-head record of 4-4.

Auger-Aliassime's two best performances this season have come against Ruud - one at the fourth round in Madrid and the other at the Olympic quarter-final a fortnight ago.

Honestly, I think this one could go either way. Auger-Aliassime has won the last two meetings, but Ruud could easily bounce back here. The Canadian is playing the better tennis at the moment, which is why I'm siding with him to edge a three-set thriller.
