Tennis Betting Tips: Three to follow for Thursday

My three selections all landed on Tuesday, with Andy Murray delaying his retirement once again, and Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev emerging triumphant from their respective matches in Paris.
My tennis betting tips for Thursday focus on the Paris Olympics, which is approaching the latter stages, as well as ATP Washington.
Tennis Betting Tips - Thursday, August 1
Set Betting - Carlos Alcaraz to beat Tommy Paul 2-1 @ 11/4
Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul has been one of the most fascinating rivalries on tour in recent years, with the pair meeting on five occasions since 2022. Alcaraz leads the head-to-head, but only just, with Paul defeating him twice in that time. They are 2-2 in best-of-three matches, although this will be their first meeting on clay.
The Spaniard has had to endure a heavy workload at the Olympics, playing alongside legendary countryman Rafael Nadal in the doubles, and they lost to fourth seed American pairing Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram last night.
Will fatigue play a part here? Alcaraz did look tired in the latter stages of that doubles defeat but I think he'll want to respond to what was a poor performance from him by his standards. Paul has won a set or more in four of their five meetings so far, so backing Alcaraz to win in three sets seems the way to go.
Match Betting - Novak Djokovic to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas @ 1/3
A straightforward pick this one - Djokovic has won his last 10 meetings with Tsitsipas, and there's little evidence to suggest that will change here.
The number one seed is still not 100 per cent healthy, but he has yet to be tested at the Olympics. Tsitsipas has had another incredibly consistent season. However, he is just 2-11 against Djokovic, so I don't see him troubling the Serbian here.
In addition, Djokovic's trophy cabinet is currently missing an Olympic gold medal, adding extra motivation to the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
Set Betting - Frances Tiafoe to beat Aleksandar Kovacevic 2-1 @ 13/5
Hometown hero Frances Tiafoe came back from down a set to beat Daniel Elahi Galan in the second round at ATP Washington, to set up his first-ever meeting with fellow countryman Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Kovacevic has secured two big wins under his belt this week and I think his serve can frustrate the Washington native. The 25-year-old defeated Atlanta champion Yoshihito Nishioka 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the first round, before enjoying another straight-sets victory over Roberto Carballes Baena to make it to this stage.
Ultimately though, Tiafoe's level will decide the match - if he plays well, he wins this one, in my opinion. Kovacevic is more than capable of winning a set, but Tiafoe's quality should shine through in the end.
