The semi-final lineups for the men’s and women’s tournaments are set to be revealed on Wednesday with the final four quarter-finals (two men’s and two women’s) scheduled to take place. Novak Djokovic’s bid for a fourth French Open title continues against two-time runner-up Casper Ruud, while Alexander Zverev takes on Alex de Minaur in the other top-half clash.

The remaining women’s last-eight clashes feature fast-improving Italian Jasmine Paolini against 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and 17-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva versus two-time Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka. Read below for my French Open betting tips for Wednesday, June 5.

Casper Ruud to beat Novak Djokovic @ 4/5

Casper Ruud snapped his five-match losing streak against Novak Djokovic with a 6-4 1-6 6-4 victory in this year’s Monte Carlo Masters semi-finals and the Norwegian can see off the legendary Serb in their quarter-final clash at Roland Garros.

Djokovic is giving everything in his efforts to defend the title but the strain is starting to show.

He needed five sets to overcome third-round opponent Lorenzo Mussetti and had to go the distance once more on Monday in his 6-1 5-7 3-6 7-5 6-3 triumph over Francisco Cherundolo.

Djokovic is renowned for his fitness and durability but he was suffering from a knee injury during the victory over Cherundolo and is unlikely to be fully recovered when he returns to Court Philippe Chatrier.

Ruud was beaten in straight sets by Djokovic in last year’s final but he is likely to have learned from the experience.

The 25-year-old looked strong towards the end of his four-set success over Taylor Fritz in the round of 16 and can move a step closer to reaching the final for a third successive year.

Casper ruud to beat novak djokovic @ 4-5

Over 36.5 total games in Alexander Zverev v Alex Di Minaur @ 4/5

Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur have traded a couple of hard-fought wins this year and their French Open quarter-final could be a competitive, drawn-out affair.

Zverev has a much better Grand Slam pedigree and has been a Roland Garros semi-finalist at each of the last three events.

But he will have plenty of respect for De Minaur, who has defeated him twice in their last five meetings.

Zverev was a 6-3 7-6 winner over De Minaur at the 2022 Rome Masters but five of the last six meetings have not been won in straight sets and the high probability of another lengthy battle points towards siding with over 36.5 games at 4/5.

Over 36. 5 total games in alexander zverev v alex di minaur @ 4-5

Aryna Sabalenka to beat Mirra Andreeva 2-0 @ 4/6

Seventeen-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva is aiming to become the eighth woman to win the French Open as a teenager but her hopes could be dashed in a tough quarter-final against Aryna Sabalenka.

Andreeva has won three of her four matches in straight sets but is yet to face a player of Sabalenka’s calibre.

Sabalenka won the Australian Open for a second time earlier this year and she will fancy her chances of bettering last year’s run to the French Open semi-finals.
