French Open Betting Tips: Rune can push Zverev all the way

The first week of the French Open was marked by rain delays but with conditions seemingly much more settled in Paris over the next week, the anticipation is building for the final seven days of action at Roland Garros.
Monday's order of play features four round-of-16 matches in both the men's and women's tournaments and the evening clash between Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune catches the eye on a day when Novak Djokovic is also in action.
In the women's draw, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina are among those attempting to reach the quarter-finals, marking the third and final match in my French Open betting tips for Monday, June 3.

Over 39.5 total games in Alexander Zverev vs Holger Rune @ 1/1
Alexander Zverev fully deserves to be favourite for this round-of-16 clash with Holger Rune but the German could be pushed all the way by the Dane, who won't be lacking in motivation when he steps on to Court Philippe-Chatrier for the evening session.
Rune has had a poor season and wins over Dan Evans, Flavio Cobolli and Jozef Kovalik are not hugely indicative of a turnaround in his fortunes but he knows he can beat Zverev having seen off the German in straight sets in Munich in 2022.
Zverev has rediscovered top form this year, although he had to dig deep in his third-round win over Tallon Griekspoor, requiring a deciding tiebreak against the Dutchman.
Rune has the weapons to challenge him and can push this contest over the 39.5-game mark.
Francisco Cerundolo +5.5 games vs Novak Djokovic @ 13/8
Novak Djokovic showed his customary fighting spirit in coming from behind against Lorenzo Musetti in Saturday's late-night battle but the legendary Serb still looks short of his best and he could find Francisco Cerundolo difficult to beat.
Djokovic has not won a title this season, losing out to Tomas Machac in the Geneva Open semi-finals on the eve of the French Open. In Cerundolo, he faces a difficult opponent with plenty of clay pedigree.
The Argentinian is inconsistent but he's capable of brilliance, as he showed when knocking Alexander Zverev out in Madrid, and he was in fine form in his third-round Roland Garros win over Tommy Paul. He can stay on the right side of a 5.5-game handicap.
Over 21.5 total games in Elina Svitolina vs Elena Rybakina @ 5/6
Elena Rybakina has been in excellent form at Roland Garros but the former Wimbledon champion could face a battle against Elina Svitolina, who is continuing to deliver impressive performances in Grand Slams.
A French Open quarter-finalist and Wimbledon semi-finalist last season, Svitolina has won two of her three meetings with the Kazakhstani so Rybakina is unlikely to have things all her own way against the Ukrainian. This could go to three sets so back over 21.5 games.
