The Middle East swing continues on the ATP tour this week with the start of the Dubai Tennis Championships and it should be an intriguing event.

The ATP 500 tournament is headlined by Daniil Medvedev, who is the favourite to come out on top after winning the event in 2023.

The top seed will be returning to the courts for the first time since he lost the Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner last month after holding a two-set lead against the Italian.

But, while Novak Djokovic is not involved this year, Medvedev will nonetheless face some fierce competition in Dubai, with the likes of Andrey Rublev, Hubert Hurkacz and Karen Khachanov all taking part.

  • Hubert Hurkacz - Outright Winner @ 11/2
  • Karen Khachanov - Outright Winner @ 12/1

Tournament Odds

Defending champion Medvedev is the 7/4 market leader at the Dubai Tennis Championships, while his fellow Russian Andrey Rublev is next in the betting at 9/2. Hurkacz, meanwhile, is 11/2 and Khachanov is 12/1.

Unseeded Briton Andy Murray is much further down the betting at 50/1 to go the distance, while Alexander Bublik may attract some attention at 25/1.

Hubert Hurkacz - Outright Winner @ 11/2

Medvedev is the obvious pick to win the Dubai Tennis Championships, having done the job last year and taken the top seed for the event, but he looks short enough in the betting and there is better value to be had elsewhere.

At 11/2, Hubert Hurkacz makes appeal, having shown signs of promise in hard-court tournaments in 2024 already.

Hurkacz crashed out of the ATP Rotterdam in the last 16 recently but was going well in the Netherlands and was only edged by home talent Tallon Griekspoor, who won their clash 7-6 6-7 7-6.

And before that, Hurkacz reached the semi-finals of the Open 13 and made the quarter-finals of the season's first Grand Slam, the Australian Open.

Last year Hurkacz reached the quarter-finals in Dubai and he looks primed to go a few steps further with six of his seven career titles having come on the hard courts, including the Shanghai Masters back in October.

Karen Khachanov - Outright Winner @ 12/1

Another contender for the crown in Dubai is Russian Karen Khachanov, who looks a value pick at 12/1.

Khachanov has also enjoyed playing on the hard courts in the first couple of months of the year, having first of all reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, where he suffered a defeat to eventual champion Sinner.

But he responded well to that setback, reaching the semi-finals of the Open 13 before winning his first title of the campaign at the Qatar Open as second seed.

Khachanov did not drop a set en route to that title, having taking down confident teenager Jakub Mensik in the event's final and he can look forward to similar conditions at the Dubai Tennis Championships this week, so is worth a bet to win.
