Rinky Hijikata to beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina @ 9/4
Ranked 115, Rinky Hijikata has already seen off one higher-ranked player in Adelaide by beating world number 97 Tristan Schoolkate 2-0 in an all-Australian clash on Tuesday.
His last-16 opponent, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, represents a real step up in class, with the Spaniard 15th in the world after a strong 2025, which featured final defeats in Delray Beach, Acapulco, Washington, DC, and Basel.
However, Davidovich Fokina's form tailed off, and he lost 2-0 to the USA's Brandon Nakashima in his opening match in Brisbane.
Hijikata also won the pair's only previous meeting at the 2024 US Open 3-1, and it looks like a real chance to cause an upset.

Cameron Norrie to beat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 2-1 @ 11/4
Cameron Norrie's two wins in 2026 have come against French opponents, beating Ugo Humbert 2-1 in Brisbane before losing by the same scoreline to Alexander Kovacevic.
He then decamped to Auckland, where he beat Hugo Gaston 2-0 in his opener, and next faces Lyon-born Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
A 2.01m giant with a big serve, Mpetshi Perricard made the main draw of all four majors in 2025 and will be in Melbourne next week.
He beat Roberto Bautista Agut 2-0 in his Auckland opener and has had a decent start to 2026, making the quarter-finals, where he lost 2-1 to Kovacevic.
That scoreline, either way, has occurred in three of his last four matches, and before his success over Gaston, it was also the outcome in seven successive matches for Norrie.
The Brit is 35 places higher in the rankings, and that superiority suggests he can win what could become a battle.

Peyton Stearns to beat Olga Danilovic @ 5/4
There's also WTA action taking place in Hobart, and the tie between Peyton Stearns and Olga Danilovic is particularly intriguing, considering there is only one place between the pair in the rankings.
Stearns, ranked 67th, has the edge but is the 5/4 outsider to 8/13 Danilovic.
Both recorded 2-1 first-round wins, the American taking down two-time Grand Slam winner Barbora Krejikova.
That confidence can take her through against the Serb, who saw off McCartney Kessler.
