Who's going to be the next James Bond? If the latest market movements are anything to go by, one TV star is getting likelier and likelier...

Next James Bond Odds

  • Aaron Taylor-Johnson - 6/4
  • Henry Cavill - 3/1
  • Rege-Jean Page - 9/2
  • James Norton - 9/2
  • Tom Hardy - 8/1
  • Callum Turner - 12/1

  • Jack Lowden - 14/1

Rege-Jean Page is now joint third favourite at Betfred to be the new 007.

The Bridgerton star has shot up the betting and figures highly in spy chief M's thoughts after landing the role as Simon Templar in the latest Saint movie.

That was the path followed by Roger Moore, who played the star role in the 1960s cult TV show, before he carried his charismatic swagger into the much sought after character of James Bond.

With the last 007 Daniel Craig retiring two years ago, speculation has reached fever pitch on just who will get the nod to take on the world's most notorious villains in the latest Bond blockbuster.

Favourite at Betfred is Aaron Taylor-Johnson who played Quicksilver in the Age of Ultron. He's 6/4 and is closely followed in the market by Superman actor Henry Cavill at 3/1.

Next up, Betfred have big mover Page at 9/2 – the same price as James Norton, who earned rave reviews in the popular TV crime drama Happy Valley.

Tom Hardy of Black Hawk Down fame is available at 8/1 - while Idris Elba, who hit the big time as Luther, and Aiden Turner, who earned rave reviews as Poldark, are both 16/1 shots.

Betfred boss Fred Done said:

"Sadly I'm no longer amongst the runners and riders… I can only guess they are looking for a younger bloke, or perhaps someone with acting experience!"
