Cue the Jungle Music...

The most talked about show on telly returns and what a line-up we've got this year! Love it or hate it, chances are you'll be watching some of it and with that in mind, we've taken a look at the opening Betfred betting odds to be the King or Queen of the Jungle for 2023.

I'm not sure which is the more unwelcome return. David Cameron, who has today been ushered back into the political spotlight as Foreign Secretary, or Nigel Farage on our screens on a nightly basis. If you thought the uproar regarding Matt Hancock last year was strong, well hold my beer, cos you ain't seen nothing yet.

There are also 11 more celebrities lining up to be abused in fiendish and horrible ways by a smiling Ant and Dec, so let's dig down and see exactly who is going into the jungle camp.

When does I'm a Celeb 2023 start ?

The 23rd season of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! starts on Sunday 19th November at 9pm and will do its usual three-week stint before the series finale, where we will find out who will be the next King or Queen of the jungle.

The winner will receive their crown from last year's winner, ex-England footballer Jill Scott.

Who is taking part in I'm a Celeb 2023?

Josie Gibson - 7/2

Josie Gibson is an old hand at this reality TV lark, having won Big Brother back in 2010. The 38-year-old has also appeared on The Wheel, Celebrity Dinner Date and The Jump but her main gig these days is presenting on This Morning.

The Bristolian has an infectious personality which is sure to shine through in camp and she's shown on her segments on the ITV daytime show that she's willing to give anything a try, something that will definitely come in handy in the bush tucker trials.

Sam Thompson - 4/1

Sam Thompson is another celeb who is reality TV royalty, having starred initially on Made In Chelsea, before going on to take part in Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Ghost Hunt and Celebrity Coach Trip. Basically if you have a celebrity show and you need a cheeky London chappie, he's your man.

The 31-year-old has also had regular stints presenting I'm a Celeb spin off/reaction shows, so knows the jungle like the back of his hand. Just like Josie, he has a fun, outgoing personality and should go really far here.

Frankie Dettori - 9/2

Frankie will be well known to our Betfred customers, as he is probably the most famous flat horse racing jockey of all time, and we recently sent him a big thank you card, to mark his retirement from the sport.

The 52-year-old Italian is extremely popular with the British public and should do well in the public votes but this will be well out of Dettori's comfort zone.

Frankie has admitted to being claustrophobic after a plane crash in 2000, which could make for some uncomfortable jungle trials in the upcoming days.

Fred Sirieix - 5/1

Lovable Frenchman Fred has come a long way since his days working front of house in Michelin star restaurants.

His experience as a top class maître d' served him well, when hosting the budding lovebirds on First Dates and has since gone on to star on our screens on Million Pound Menu and alongside Gordon Ramsay and Gino D'Acampo in Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

Two things are sure - Fred likes taking his top off and will be heavily involved in the cooking duties in camp.

Nigel Farage - 7/1

Here we go then...

I'll try to hold back on my actual feelings about this one, as A) I'm a professional and B) I don't want to lose my job!

One of the most controversial politicians of our time is being given a platform to air his views on a nightly basis and will surely be voted in for the majority of the bushtucker trials.

ITV know exactly what they are getting with the 59-year-old far-right politician and are using the same formula that worked so well with Matt Hancock last time, to stoke up more interest in the predictable format.

Whether you love him or loathe him, the former UKIP and Brexit Party leader has already shortened in the odds overnight from 12/1 to 7/1, showing there will be plenty of people backing him. Hopefully he has as much success with voters, as he did in his time trying to be elected as an MP.

Look at that - I managed to get through it without channelling my inner Danny Dyer! Result...

Nigel Farage is 7/1 to win I'm a celebrity 2023

Danielle Harold - 10/1

Hands up, I had to google this one.

Danielle played Lola Pearce-Brown in the long-running TV soap opera Eastenders and won a NTA Award, amongst others, for her portrayal of a character suffering with a brain tumour, which led to her eventual death.

The 31-year-old is now joining the celebrity jungle and could be looking to star in more reality-type television, after such a long time tied up in soap land. She has already signed up to be in Celebrity Hunted in 2024.

Marvin Humes - 10/1

Marvin is best known as one of the four founding-members of pop band JLS, who came runners-up to Alexandra Burke in the X-Factor.

Since then, the 38-year-old has presented on both TV and radio and also hosted the Official Big Top 40 Chart Show on commercial radio channels from 2013 to 2018.

Humes is apparently petrified of heights, so the first tasks could be interesting where he will either jump from a plane or highwalk off the side of a sky scraper. Welcome to the jungle Marvin!

Tony Bellew - 12/1

Ex-Cruiserweight champion of the world Tony Bellew famously promised 'You'll never see me again' when he announced his retirement, following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk in 2018.

Well, the Evertonian hasn't been off our screens since, presenting on DAZN's boxing coverage as well as starring in two more CREED films and taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Next up for the 40-year-old, it's the jungle and with Bellew famous for saying what he thinks, this could be really explosive!

Nick Pickard - 20/1

Another Google for this one, until I realised it's Tony off Hollyoaks.

Nick has been playing Tony on the Channel 4 Soap since its first episode back in 1995 and remains its longest-serving cast member.

The 48-year-old has dipped his toe into the reality TV world in recent years, taking part in both Celebrity Masterchef and Pointless Celebrities.

Nella Rose - 25/1

26-year-old Rose is this year's youngest contestant and should have a decent backing from the younger viewers.

The Belgian-born star came to prominence as a YouTube vlogger, before moving into presenting, with stints at the Brit Awards and on Catfish UK.

Grace Dent - 33/1

Ah, I love Grace Dent and my wife just can't understand why!

The 50-year-old journalist, author and food-critic has been a constant fixture on our screens and in our broadsheet media for a number of years and is another who likes to speak her mind.

Dent has been on dozens of TV shows but is primarily famous for Masterchef, Celebrity Masterchef and the Great British Menu.

I'm looking forward to how she deals with a certain Kent-based politician.

Jamie-Lynn Spears - 33/1

Last, but certainly not least is Jamie-Lynn Spears or Britney's sister, as she's more commonly known.

The 32-year-old is an actor and singer in her own right but will always be held back by that pesky surname.

Despite the 10-year gap between the two siblings, they had always appeared close until 2018, when the conservatorship issue reared its head and since then they have had an on-off spat over social media and in the courts.

Spears is not popular amongst the #FreeBritney fans but will that carry over to this side of the pond. Judging by her starting odds, it appears so.
