The World Championships are well underway at the Crucible and we're into the second round of matches. Ace snooker tipster Dean Strand has two bets for us for Saturday's action, so without further ado, here are Dean's World Snooker Championship Saturday Round 2 Tips.

2 pts Stuart Bingham Highest Break Scorer v Jack Lisowski @ 5/4

There is something about the Crucible that seems to bring the best out of Stuart Bingham.

After a fairly disappointing season, he impressed in the first round to beat the in-form Gary Wilson 10-5, to reach the last 16 for the sixth consecutive year, twice progressing past this stage in that run, with one quarter and one semi-final exit.

The one thing Bingham has always been consistent at is break building, particularly on the big stage. It’s been nine years since he played a match here in which he failed to make a century, making at least one in the following 22 matches.

He’s won the highest break market in 13 of those matches, including five of the last six.

Lisowski isn’t quite as prolific, his highest break in his first round win over Ding Junhui saw him hit a highest break of just 91 and he’s now lost this market in his last seven Crucible matches.

I make Bingham favourite in this market and odds of 5/4 look good value.

2 pts Joe O’Connor to beat Kyren Wilson @ 11/5

I backed O’Connor to beat Selby on his Crucible debut in the first round this week and he didn’t disappoint, with a very assured performance making two centuries and picking up the win 10-6. Selby might not have been at his best but it was still a very solid performance from O’Connor, taking his chances well.

Today he comes up against another player who’s struggled for form this season in Kyren Wilson and I again think he looks a good price to pull off a shock. Wilson played well in his first round 10-1 win over Dale but he was put under very little pressure and it wasn’t really a test for him.

Last season he started similarly with a very good first round performance, but in the last 16 offered very little resistance to John Higgins in a 13-2 defeat, to exit at this stage for the second year running, following a defeat to Stuart Bingham at the same stage in 2021.

The ‘Warrior’ has struggled to cope with players putting him under pressure lately and I think this could be another tough match for him. There hasn't been many prior meetings between the two but the only ranking event meeting between them since O’Connor has been a pro, saw O’Connor pick up the win 4-3.
