Players Championship Snooker 2025 Predictions: Two value shouts for the title

3 events left on the Snooker calendar now and this week sees the top 16 players on the 1 year list head to Telford for the Players Championship.
Players Championship Snooker Tips
This is the 2nd event of the players series following the Grand Prix last week where Neil Robertson impressively beat Stuart Bingham 10-0 in the final, although Bingham's impressive run to the final did see him break into the top 16 and qualify for this event where he will again meet Robertson in the first round.
This will be the 9th edition of the event under this format with Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump the only 2 time winners and Mark Allen is the defending champion this week after beating Zhang Anda in last years final.
1pt - Shaun Murphy to win Outright @ 10/1
My first pick this week is Shaun Murphy.
Murphy is a player that always plays better on the big occasions, and his performances this season have been very good.
He’s already won the Masters this year winning all 4 matches by at least 3 clear frames against Robertson, Allen and Kyren Wilson in the final.
In last weeks Grand Prix he also looked on top of his game, wins over Hawkins and Higgins to reach the semi final where he lost a very high quality match against Neil Robertson in a deciding frame with a half century in all 11 frames.
He doesn’t always qualify for this event but when he does he’s always tough to beat, on the last 3 occasions he’s qualified he’s finished runner up, lost in the semi and 2 years ago lifted the trophy with dominant wins in all 4 matches, beating Ali Carter 10-4 in the final.
10/1 looks a good price for one of the most in form players at the moment.

1pt - Mark Allen to win Outright @ 12/1
In the bottom half of the draw I'll go for the defending champion Mark Allen.
Allen has struggled a little bit by his usual standards this season but still sits 15th on the 1 year list and had a big win in Saudi earlier in December winning the Riyadh Snooker Championship.
He has a tendency to do well in the events with smaller fields and longer matches, as well as winning this event last year he reached the semi finals of the Masters last year and this, beating Jiahui and Selby in this year's edition.
Tricky first round match against World Champion Kyren Wilson but he’s won 2 of his last 3 against Wilson, a best of 11 and a best of 17 and if he does get through this one he’ll face the winner of Williams and Ding, 2 players who have struggled for form lately.
If Allen's on form this week then 12/1 will look a very good price.

0.5pts - Si Jiahui Highest Tournament Break @ 16/1
The highest tournament break market can be won by any of these players but there’s a bit of value in odds of 16/1 for Si Jiahui in my opinion.
He’s already won the tournament highest break prize in 2 events this season with a 145 in the German Masters and a 147 in Wuhan.
Out of the 16 players in the event there are only 2 players who have made more 140+ breaks than Si, Selby and Trump and both of these 2 have played significantly more frames.
He’s shown he can do it on the big occasions too, in the Wuhan Open semi final against Judd Trump he made 3 centuries in an impressive 6-2 win including breaks of 147 and 144.
