The top two in the Betfred Super League meet on Friday evening, when Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves collide at the DW Stadium (kick-off 20:00 BST, Sky Sports Action).

Just two points separate these sides going into the clash, following Wigan’s defeat at Hull FC last week coupled with the Wolves’ impressive win at St Helens. The Warriors are unbeaten on home soil this season but they face a Warrington side who have won four on the spin ahead of their short journey up the A49. Read on for my Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Wigan will once again be without Jai Field, but the injured full-back is getting closer to a return to action.

The Australian has been missing since suffering a hamstring blow in their Challenge Cup final victory at Wembley.

The Warriors are without trio Tom Forber, Bevan French and Mike Cooper, while Willie Isa is still missing as he continues his recovery from a dislocated ankle.

Meanwhile, Warrington will be missing their captain on Friday night, with Stefan Ratchford facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

The 36-year-old suffered a fractured jaw and eye socket in the win over Saints and he could be out for up to eight weeks.

Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves Odds

Despite defeat in Week 18, league leaders Wigan are 1/2 to collect the points and maintain their unbeaten home run.

Warrington are in their best run of form of the season and know a win would take them level on points with their opponents.

Sam Burgess’s men have beaten St Helens, Hull FC, Catalans and Huddersfield in their last four away games and are 7/4 to defeat Wigan on Friday.

The handicap 2-way offer has Wigan -4.5 at 5/6, while Warrington at +4.5 can be backed at 10/11.

Handicap 3-Way - Warrington +2 @ 13/10

These sides have met on two occasions already this season, with Wigan running out winners both times.

They have been close-run affairs, though, with the Warriors edging home 18-19 at Halliwell Jones Stadium in early June.

A week later, the sides met at Wembley in the Challenge Cup final, when Wigan lifted the trophy courtesy of an 18-8 victory.

However, the Wolves have been riding a crest of a wave since that Wembley setback, losing just once in five matches since the cup defeat.

Warrington +2 at 13-10

Anytime Tryscorer - Matt Dufty @ 6/4

One of the reasons for Warrington’s recent impressive run is the form of full-back Matt Dufty, who has moved into the top-three tryscorers in the Betfred Super League.

The Australian has crossed the whitewash six times in the Wolves’ last four matches, including a brace in the 30-18 win over Leeds earlier this month.

Dufty, who missed the narrow league defeat to Wigan, has 14 tries to date and scored Warrington’s only try of the Challenge Cup final.

Dufty anytime at 6-4
