Betfred Super League history is made in Las Vegas this weekend with the competition's first ever game to be hosted Stateside as champions Wigan play Sam Burgess and the Warrington Wolves. (Kick-off 9:30pm).

The game forms part of a Vegas extravaganza, as Super League, NRL and the best of the women's game combine at the Allegiant Stadium - the host venue for last year's Superbowl.

Team news

Wigan boss Matt Peet names an unchanged squad for the showpiece game, with Wolves head coach Burgess also sticking with the same 21 from last week's win over Catalans.

The Warriors responded well to their epic golden-point defeat by Leigh to thrash Hull FC away from home, with Abbas Miski making his return on the wing in a formidable Wigan line-up.

There is no reason for Peet to shuffle his pack in Vegas, with his only long-term absentees still some way off. Ethan Havard and Brad O'Neill are the main players missing, but Liam Byrne, Kruise Leeming and Tom Forber have all performed impressively in their absence.

Warrington's big team news concern was actually surrounding their head coach, but Burgess did eventually arrive late to the party after waiting on Visa clearance.

His main decision seems to be whether to go with Stefan Ratchford or Oli Leyland alongside captain George Williams in the halves, with each player having started one of the Wire's two wins so far.

Wigan to score the first and last try in the game @ 2/1 (price boost from 7/4)

A game like this is such a venture into the unknown for both sides that it feels somewhat futile to do my usual dive into the recent record books to study form and stats.

Neither side has flown to the other side of the world before to play a regular season game a couple of days later, and there will obviously be a big advantage to the squad who has acclimatised better by kick off time.

Of the two rounds of Super League we have seen so far, Wigan are the team hitting their straps quickest. I felt they were unlucky not to win the Leigh game in round one before it went to golden point at 0-0, and they responded as we tipped them to do in this column, with a thumping win on the road at Hull last week.

Warrington's two wins so far have been tight, beating Catalans by 6 and Huddersfield by 8. So although it is the Wolves with the 100 per cent record on the line, I feel it is very much Wigan who can be the dominant force.

The big stage will give this game a Cup final feel, and as such you can expect it to be tight. And in a Cup final I would never go against this Warriors side who have every piece of silverware available in their cabinet right now.

Rather than the handicap this week I am taking a little bit of a punt in that I feel Peet's men can control this game. As such I'm looking at the first and last tries of the game to be Wigan's - with a price boost to 2/1 on offer with Betfred on that selection this week.

Jai Field anytime try scorer @ 6/4

Both of our Wigan selections returned last week, with the -12 handicap tip turning out to be very cautious in a 46-4 stroll, and Jai Field fully justifying his 5/4 anytime try scorer selection with a thrilling hat-trick.

I fancied Field last week and I do again. He looked in peak form right at the start of the season where a lot of players are only just starting to hit their straps.

With his lightning pace and quick feet he can be the game-breaker again, and be just the kind of player the Vegas crowds will want to see.
