Wigan welcome Hull FC on Saturday afternoon still only two points behind Betfred Super League leaders Hull KR, despite a recent wobble that has brought defeats at Leigh and Wakefield along with nervy wins either side.  (Kick-off 3pm)

Hull's early season promise has plateaued somewhat, but the Black and Whites finally earned their first home win last weekend with a fine comeback against Wakefield.

Team News

Wigan boss Matt Peet makes two changes to his squad for the game at The Brick Community Stadium.

Winger Abbas Miski is injured again and drops out, as does England prop Luke Thompson. The two men to come in are Harvie Hill after suspension and Kian McDermott.

Star man Bevan French is still out, as is Jack Farrimond, so Adam Keighran may well be used in the halves once more.

Liam Marshall is included after injury which would be a welcome boost in the absence of Miski, while rugby union convert Christian Wade keeps his place after scoring his first Wigan try.

Hull are without hooker Amir Bourouh and Ed Chamberlain who both failed their head injury assessments last week and so miss out through concussions protocols.

In-form prop Sam Eseh is ineligible to play against his parents club as per the terms of his loan agreement. Those are big blows to the visitors, who instead call up youngsters Ryan Westerman, Will Kirby and Cobie Wainhouse.

Still out are Will Pryce, Ligi Sao, John Asiata, Jordan Lane and Liam Watts.

Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC Odds

Wigan are the 1/8 favourites to win on Saturday, while Hull FC are 11/2 to pull off the victory. The draw can be backed at 22/1.

Handicap 3-way Alternative 1 - Hull FC 12 @ 7/5

We have already seen this fixture once this season and it brought an epic Hull comeback to knock Wigan out of the Betfred Challenge Cup on home soil.

I feel like Hull have gone off the boil a little since then, but so have Wigan. At the start of the week I really fancied backing Hull in this fixture. There is something not quite right at Wigan at the moment and I sense that opponents feel that the champions are there for the taking.

But the Hull injury list is bad, and I'm not sure they can win this with Bourouh and in-form Eseh now joining that long list of talent in the stands.

But I do think they can have a go, so am looking at a home win not by too much.

Wigan will come right soon, of that there is little doubt. They snoozed their way to a 10-0 half-time deficit at home to Huddersfield last week and then put the foot down with 30 unanswered points.

So there is a big score coming soon. I'm not convinced it will be this week, and am backing Hull to keep it respectable.

Jai Field anytime try @ 8/11

No tries in his last two games for Wigan's star man but Jai Field will not be staying silent for long.

I have certainly not seen anything in Wigan's recent struggles to suggest I need to start looking elsewhere in the tryscorer market, and am sticking with Field to produce the goods again here.
