Things don’t get any easier for the Gold Coast Titans, with the NRL Premiership’s basement club looking set for yet another ignominious year. On Friday they host the Manly Sea Eagles at the Cbus Super Stadium (20:00 local, 11:00 BST) with a run of one win in nine games to improve upon.

This is nothing new for a club which has finished in the bottom four in six of the past eight years, and my Titans vs Sea Eagles predictions forecast another tough afternoon for Des Hasler and his side.

Titans vs Sea Eagles Betting Tips

  • Sea Eagles to win both halves @ 6/5
  • Handicap 3-way Alt 1: Sea Eagles -16 @ 6/4

Titans vs Sea Eagles Odds

It’s no surprise to see the Titans out at 11/4 to win this one given their current run of form which has seen them drop from third after round four to 17th just 10 weeks later.

Manly are the massive 2/7 favourites, and there’s every chance they come out of this one having made matters even worse for Hasler, their under-pressure former coach.

The draw is a 22/1 chance, while the handicap gives the Titans an 11.5-point start. They are 10/11 in that scenario, with Manly at 5/6.

Team News

Hasler has the luxury of picking Sam Verrills, whose no-try against the Melbourne Storm two weeks ago caused so much consternation. The hooker had a broken hand but has been picked to start having initially been listed among the reserves.

The Titans are without Origin stars Moeaki Fotuaika and skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, with Kieran Foran set to lead the side in the absence of the big number 13.

Klese Haas replaces Tino in the back row, with Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui and debutant John Patston named on the bench.

Manly welcome back star full-back Tom Trbojevic after a thigh problem, and Jason Saab returns from illness. Siosiua Taukeiaho’s calf injury has cleared up, so he starts in place of Jazz Tevaga.

There’s no Lehi Hopoate after his head injury last week against the Newcastle Knights.

Rugby League Odds

Sea Eagles to win both halves @ 6/5

Manly may have lost more than they have won this season, but their +42 points difference shows that when they do pick up the victories it can generally be with a bit to spare.

In four of their six triumphs so far in 2025, they have outscored their opponents in both halves, and I can see the same happening against a struggling Gold Coast line-up.

With Tom Trbojevic back, the Sea Eagles should be at their sparkling best, and I can see them getting a first-half lead and adding to it. There is a 45.5% implied probability from the 6/5 odds Betfred are offering, and I think that’s generous to the Titans.

Handicap 3-way Alt 1: Sea Eagles -16 @ 6/4

As mentioned earlier, the Sea Eagles don’t generally win by one or two at a time. In fact, none of their NRL successes to date have come by fewer than 14, which makes the chance of them overcoming a 16-point handicap at 6/4 look like a fair bet.

There are lesser margins available, but there is real value in this one given their victories this season by 30, 28, 14, 16, 18 and 28.

If we’re accepting that Manly will win this, the 40% implied probability of the price is on the punter’s side given their 67% record for turning superiority into big wins.
