Wakefield Trinity vs Bradford Bulls Prediction: Hosts to bounce back from cup exit

Wakefield look to bounce back from their Betfred Challenge Cup exit by extending a superb run of form in Super League when Bradford Bulls make the short trip across West Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon (15:00 BST, Sky Sports+).
Trinity may have been edged out by Wigan last weekend but a run of four league wins on the spin means this is a tough fixture for an injury-hit Bulls side who have lost their last two. My Wakefield Trinity vs Bradford Bulls predictions follow below.

Team News
Bradford have had a fortnight off having not featured in the Cup last weekend, but are still missing a host of key players.
Boss Kurt Haggerty this week confirmed injuries to both outside back Waqa Blake and Phoenix Steinwede, with neither player expected back within the next three months - a huge couple of setbacks for the Bulls.
As such there are no fewer than six changes made to the initial Bradford squad this week and it is not a roster that will give travelling fans much confidence. Not least after back-to-back defeats to rivals Leeds and Castleford. The concession of 40 points away to the struggling Tigers at the end of March was particularly alarming defensively.
Prop Ryan Sutton is also out, and there is a real issue in the halves with Jayden Nikorima, Rowan Milnes and Joe Keyes the other three men sidelined.
The six men to come in are Cam Bate, Will Gardiner, Alfie Leake, Brandon Douglas, Ebon Scurr and Dan Russell.
No such problems for Wakefield, with boss Daryl Powell's main issue being the suspension to Jazz Tevaga for an incident that saw him sin-binned against Wigan in the Cup.
Isaiah Vagana also drops out, with Caius Faatili returning from a knock that ruled him out last week, and a place too for Charlie Abraham.
Handicap 3-Way Alternative 1 - Wakefield Trinity -12 @ 8/13
Wakefield went into last weekend's Betfred Challenge Cup quarter-final with real momentum and I felt they gave a great account of themselves in a 26-22 home defeat by the Warriors. We had Wigan on the -6 handicap which shows how well Trinity performed and they can count themselves a little unfortunate.
That said, they had been on a five-match winning streak - four Super League and one Cup - and I am not expecting that form to evaporate from one defeat.
Trinity look a really strong outfit this year in every position and I would have had the home side winning this even against a full-strength Bulls. Given the injury list detailed above I am even more convinced this will be a good night for Wakefield who have become both very exciting to watch and tough to break down.
Bradford have not beaten Wakefield for 12 years and I can't see them winning this one with the men they have missing. Trinity starting off the weekend at 1/6 to win outright tells you everything you need to know here I feel, and the 16-point handicap is also one I feel the home side can probably overcome.

Dynamic Double - Max Jowitt & Ethan Ryan to score a Try @ Price Boost 6/1
We are offering our Super League Double Delight for this fixture, so if your First Tryscorer selection scores first and then scores again we will double your First Tryscorer price. And that could bring big rewards for the likes of England winger Tom Johnstone who is favourite to score first at 11/2. That would be a milestone try for Johnstone who needs just one more to hit 150 career tries.
We also have a couple of tasty Price Boosts - 7/2 for a Johnstone try in a Wakefield win by more than 22 points (was 3/1) and a massive 6/1 if you fancy Wakefield full-back Max Jowitt and flying Bradford winger Ethan Ryan to both score a try.
That last Dynamic Double pick tempts me - Jowitt is a hugely underrated asset in this Trinity team and was superb against Wigan last week. Ryan is lightning quick, and in a game that I expect will yield limited chances for the Bulls it is Ryan who is most likely to strike. The Wales winger has gone three games without a try which is as long a dry run as he usually goes through.
In the anytime market itself my favoured picks are Wakefield's Oliver Pratt (4/5) who has eight tries in his last seven games and centre Corey Hall (7/4) who has looked really sharp since earning a recall to the team.
