Catalans Dragons vs Toulouse Odds

Team News

Catalans gave Warrington a real scare last week at the Halliwell Jones Stadium last Thursday night and are favourites to get back to winning ways against Olympique.

Boss John Cartwright makes a few changes, with suspension depriving him of both goalkicker Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet and Franck Maria. Captain Ben Garcia was sin-binned late on against the Wolves but avoided a ban and keeps his place.

Josh Simm returned to the squad last week but did not feature and is not involved at Magic. The three men to come in this week are Leo Darrelatour, Clement Martin and Giovanni Descalzi.

Toulouse are boosted by the return of key forward Mathieu Jussaume, with Luke Polselli and Henry O'Kane also returning. Young winger Mathieu Pons drops out along with Reubenn Rennie and Ellis Gillam.

Star full-back Olly Ashall-Bott returned to the squad last week but was not deemed fit enough to play. Given he keeps his place in the 21-man party I would expect him to be involved this week.

Winning Margin: Catalans Dragons 1-12 points  @ 9/4

Catalans were unfortunate to come away with nothing at Warrington last week. I was working at the Halliwell Jones and there was a general feeling in the tunnel that the Dragons missed a real opportunity having seen a 10-6 half-time lead turn into an 18-16 defeat against a rather uninspiring Wolves side.

I rate John Cartwright as a coach and feel confident we will see this Dragons side finish much higher than their current eighth spot. To do that, and close that four-point gap to the playoff places, they have to win games like this.

Toulouse are down in 12th and have missed Ashall-Bott. With he and Jussaume back in the team they should be a much stronger side. I feel they can score some points in this one but I have it down as a Dragons win.

The meeting earlier this season saw the Dragons win a cracker 33-36 so this should be quite entertaining, with some great options with Betfred in the anytime market.

The three Super League meetings between these two sides have all been won by the Dragons and I feel this will be number four. It is worth noting that the biggest margin of victory between the pair has been 10 points in those two games.

As such I will be ignoring the 12-point handicap and looking at the Dragons instead by 1-12 points.

Mathieu Jussaume Anytime Tryscorer @ 6/4

We are running our popular Betfred Super League Double Delight for this fixture so if your player scores the first try of the game and then goes on to score again we will DOUBLE you first tryscorer price.

If you are taking this on I would be looking at the Dragons' main strike players in Nick Cotric (7/1 first scorer), full-back Charlie Staines (8/1) and perhaps the returning Leo Darrelatour at 10/1.

I'm a little more risk-averse in games like this and prefer the 80-minute chance of the anytime try, and am actually going to look at Toulouse for my selection.

If he is fit to play I really like Jussaume. A second row who has played so much centre in his career he just knows how to score tries - much like Chris Hankinson at Leeds who is scoring for fun in the forward pack. I like Jussaume in this one at 7/4 - provided of course that he passes a fitness test after missing last week.
