St Helens vs Hull KR Prediction: Saints to maintain perfect start

Can St Helens continue their perfect start to the 2025 Betfred Super League season when Hull KR come to the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night (20:00, live on Sky Sports Action)?
Club legend Paul Sculthorpe certainly thinks so. Read on for his St Helens vs Hull KR prediction.
It’s a perfect three-from-three for the Saints so far in 2025, having turned over Salford, Castleford and Wakefield.
However, with the greatest of respect to those teams, Paul Wellens and Co have yet to be tested. That will certainly not be the case come Friday evening when Hull KR come to town.
The Robins also boast a 100% record, sitting pretty in second on the table behind the mighty Saints on points difference.
They have also completed the hat-trick of wins over Cas, Wakey And Salford, putting the sword to the latter in a 42-0 demolition last Thursday.
Unlike the first game of the season against Saints, the Red Devils were at full strength, yet probably turned out their worst display in the last decade.
Unfortunately, it seems all is not as smooth sailing despite the recent takeover, with rumours players haven't been paid this month. Maybe this explains recent performance.
Take no credit away from Hull KR, though, as they continue to prove they are one of the leading teams in the Betfred Super League.
Their win was achieved without star man Mikey Lewis. The England star and Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel was forced to miss the game after picking up an ankle injury while crossing for the winning try against Wakefield a week prior.
Former Saint Danny Richardson stepped up to the No.7 jersey and will no doubt be back to face his old teammates if Lewis fails to make a full recovery before Friday. Reports are his injury is not as bad as first feared, and he’s an outside chance of making this top-of-the-table clash.
Whatever team the opposition field, Saints have to focus on what they can control and continue to show they mean business this year.
It wasn’t a classic performance over in Wakefield, but as anyone will tell you it’s not an easy place to go and get the job done. So a 26-6 victory will be greatly received as the Saints continue to march on undefeated in 2025.
Harry Robertson once again did his growing reputation no harm, scoring a long-range try and enjoying some classy touches throughout the game. Darryl Clark crossed the whitewash for his 100th Super League try, showing what a shrewd signing he was.
There is plenty of confidence in the team so far this season and Lee Briers has added a lot more threat on the ball going forward. On top of that, the addition of Tristan Sailor, who I must say had a lot quieter game on the ball against Wakefield. Still, he had a big influence on those around him. I like that.
Robertson, Feldt and the refreshed Mark Percival all look sharp, especially playing on the back of great work by the big men - Walmsley, Delaney, Lees, Sironen and Co…
I think Friday night will be game of the season so far, and with not a lot separating these two I’m hoping a home-crowd advantage can see us through.
I’m going to tip Saints to go four-from-four, courtesy of a narrow four-point win.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Finally, it was fantastic to see our great game grabbing international headlines as the Betfred Super League joined forces with the NRL to take rugby league to the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas.
Over 10,000 fans travelled across the Atlantic to watch Wigan take on Warrington, prior to a couple of NRL fixtures and a Women’s International.
A Bevan French-inspired Wigan completely blew away a poor Wire side, who yet again choked on the big stage. Wigan led 42-0 before switching off and allowing Warrington to post four tries in the last 20 minutes, resulting in a far more respectable 48-24 scoreline.
Maybe Saints can join the Vegas party in 2026?
