Team News
The Roosters go with a pack of Siua Wong, Salesi Foketi, Angus Chrichton, Lindsay Collins, Connor Watson and Naufahu Whyte.
In the backline, the hosts have opted for Sam Walker, Sandon Smith, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Robert Toia, Ethan King, Daniel Tuou and James Tedesco.
As for Melbourne, they go with Trent Loiero, Eliesa Katoa, Shawn Blore, Josh King, Harry Grant and Stefano Utoikamanu in the forwards.
Jahrome Hughes, Tyran Wishart, Xavier Coates, Joe Chan, Jack Howarth, Grant Anderson and Nick Meaney get the nod in the Storm’s backline.
Sydney Roosters are 11/8 underdogs for the win on home soil, while the Storm are 8/13 to head back to Melbourne with the victory.
A draw at Allianz Stadium is 22/1, while Melbourne are 23/10 to win both halves.
The Sharks do not have one player called up for the Origin opener, although winger Sam Stonestreet is facing up to two months on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.
Jesse Ramien is set to shake off an eye injury to feature, while Mawene Hiroti returns to the Sharks squad for the first time since Round 8.
Melbourne Storm -8 handicap @ 7/5
The Roosters have had a tough time of things against the Storm in recent years, losing 11 of their last 13 meetings with the men from Melbourne.
Home form at Allianz Stadium is hardly anything to write home about for the Roosters either, as they have lost five of their last seven games on their own patch.
The Storm are well on course for a top-four finish in the NRL this season and they will take some stopping in New South Wales this week.
Melbourne had a blip last time out with a shock 18-16 home defeat to the Manly Sea Eagles, so the Roosters could be on the end of a Storm backlash on Thursday, with the visitors backed to cover the handicap.

The Storm have been impressive both with and without the ball this season and it’s the reason they currently have the best points difference in the NRL with +218.
To put that into context, at the time of writing, first-place Canberra Raiders have a points difference of 132, the third best in the competition.
The Storm and the Dolphins are the joint-leading point scorers in the NRL this season with 533 but the Brisbane outfit have played a game more.
With the Roosters conceding more points (413) than any team in the top 10 in the standings, expect a high-scoring game in Sydney with the over 46.5 total points getting the nod here.
