Panthers vs Sea Eagles Prediction: Try-machine Jenkins 9/2 to extinguish Manly magic

Penrith Panthers’ dominant hold on the NRL Premiership will be put to the test on Sunday when they host the surging Manly Sea Eagles at CommBank Stadium (18:15 local, 09:15 BST, Sky Sports Action).
Manly have won four out of four since Kieran Foran succeeded Anthony Seibold as coach so a ding-dong battle is expected in western Sydney. Read on for my Panthers vs Sea Eagles predictions, full team news and match odds from Betfred.

Penrith are a healthy 3/10 chance for the win and an extension of their great start to eight victories in nine.
Manly can be backed for the win at 11/4, while the draw is 18/1.
The Panthers give up a 12.5-point start in the two-way handicap, with their odds lengthened to 10/11 under those parameters. The Sea Eagles are 5/6 to make the most of the leg-up.
Team News
Panthers boss Ivan Cleary rolls out the same 19 as last week, with no changes necessary given their superb form.
Jack Cole and Kalani Going were the unused substitute options against the Knights, and both are among the interchange six again.
Manly also go with the same starting XIII, but they make a change on the bench as Nathan Brown comes in for pec injury victim Corey Waddell.
Foran is still without skipper Tom Trbojevic, who is out for at least another month in his eighth separate hamstring-related lay-off in his NRL career.
Panthers by 13+ @ 10/11
Against any other team in the league, I wouldn’t be expecting Manly to lose by three scores right now.
In fact, against any other team in the league I would be backing a Sea Eagles win. But the Panthers are different gravy at the moment.
Yes, they lost to the Bulldogs in Round 6, then scraped past the Dolphins eight days later. That week, though, is the exception which has proved the rule in 2026. Penrith have hammered everyone else.
Those other six wins have come at any average score of 39-8, and even a red-hot Manly shouldn’t be able to keep them close.

Thomas Jenkins First Tryscorer @ 9/2
The shock of the season happened last week, with Thomas Jenkins going a full 80 minutes without scoring a try.
It was the first time in eight appearances in 2026 in which the Panthers winger hadn’t crossed at least twice.
His 16 tries so far dwarf the tallies of everybody else in the league, and he surely will be back on the scoreboard in Round 9.
He’s obviously no sort of value in the Anytime Tryscorer market – he’s 1/4, for what it’s worth – so I’m willing to take the generous 9/2 about him getting over to break the deadlock at an implied 18.2% chance.
