Hull FC vs Wakefield Trinity Prediction: Wakey need a win

Fresh from thumping Catalans, Wakefield look to strengthen their playoff push with a big performance on the road at a Hull FC side blowing hot and cold (20:00, Sky Sports+)
Hull slipped to seventh with defeat against St Helens last week and head into July incredibly still looking for their first home win of the Betfred Super League season. Below you can find my Hull FC vs Wakefield Trinity predictions.

Team news
Hull boss John Cartwright makes just one change to his 21-man squad as the black and whites have another go at bagging their first home win in almost a year.
Will Hutchinson comes in to replace Will Gardiner, so Brad Fash and Jed Cartwright both retain their places in the squad despite appearing to pick up injuries in the defeat by Saints last week.
Star names still sidelined include Will Pryce, John Asiata, Ligi Sao, Liam Watts and Jordan Lane.
Hull FC vs Wakefield Trinity Odds
Wakefield welcomed back both Mike McMeeken and Caleb Hamlin-Uele last week and both came through their returns unscathed.
Boss Daryl Powell makes two changes as Oliver Russell and Ellis Lingard come in for Oliver Pratt and Jack Croft.
Still out injured is Jake Trueman.
Wakefield Trinity 1-12 points@ 12/5
Wakefield justified our backing last week, as both tips in our Trinity preview landed, with the home side comfortably covering the handicap against Catalans and winger Tom Johnstone striking late on to land our anytime tryscorer selection.
So can we pick another two winners this week?
This actually feels a much tougher game to call this week. It is inconceivable that Hull FC's bizarre losing run at home can go on for much longer, but Trinity keep performing when many may still expect them to burn out in their first season back in the top flight.
This is a huge game in the battle for a top six spot, and given Wakefield have leapfrogged Hull FC it also feels like a game that Hull cannot afford to lose. Seven of Hull's last 10 games are at home which would usually be a big advantage, but unless they get this monkey off their back soon then it will continue to weigh heavy.
The handicap gives the home side a four-point start which shows you how close this is. I do feel like if Hull play to the heights they were hitting a couple of months ago then they will win. But my gut is that wakefield might win this one - they are 13/10 to do so.
Powell has made Trinity a very tough team to beat and they have grabbed some big wins on the road including at Leigh, Warrington and Leeds.
I agree that Hull FC, despite their wretched home record, have to be favourites. but I can't ignore my instinct that Wakefield can go well in this one.
I'm torn between sticking on the handicap, going with Wakefield outright or backing a slender victory. The latter is more appealing if we are feeling bold, with a 1-12 point away win available at 12/5.

Tom Johnstone anytime tryscorer @ 10/11
Tom Johnstone and Lewis Martin are my two picks for a try this week, with Johnstone again proving he is the man for the big occasion with another try in the Catalans win last weekend.
Johnstone has scored in each of Wakefield's last three games, while Martin produced a rare blank last week.
Both are 10/11 pre-match.
