Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity Prediction: Giant Gagai the one to back in Trin win

Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity are both looking to bounce back to winning ways in the Betfred Super League on Friday night, but Trinity will be the favourites when they head to Accu Stadium to take on their West Yorkshire rivals (kick-off 20:00 BST).
Wakefield saw a 10-0 half-time lead at Hull FC turn into defeat last week, while Huddersfield did exactly the same - stunning champions Wigan 10-0 at the interval before losing out 30-10. My Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity predictions follow below, along with full team news and Betfred's latest odds.

Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity Odds
The home side are not fancied to get the two points this weekend, with Betfred pricing the Giants at 11/5 to collect just a fourth win of the league campaign.
Wakefield are 4/11 to get their play-off assault back on track, implying a probability of 73.3%. The draw in 80 minutes can be backed at 18/1.
On the handicap front, the regular two-way market offers the Giants a 7.5-point advantage in return for a drop in odds to 10/11. In that same scenario the visitors are 5/6 to overcome the start.
Team News
Wakefield boss Daryl Powell has some key faces back in his team for a clash that both sides will feel is must-win. But one big name is missing, as a groin injury keeps out England winger Tom Johnstone, with Oliver Russell and Noah High the other men dropping out from last week's squad.
The good news is the returns of Jake Trueman, Matty Storton and Renouf Atoni.
Both Atoni and Storton have been out long term and their comebacks have not been rushed. Trueman is back after concussion.
Huddersfield have Niall Evalds back available after the unfortunate full-back suffered an injury on his Giants debut at Salford Red Devils in March. Elliot Wallis also comes into the 21-man squad.
Sam Hewitt sustained a broken jaw in defeat at Wigan last week and will not play again this season. The other man to miss out is Joe Greenwood through concussion protocols.
Handicap 3-way: Wakefield Trinity -8 @ 1/1
Bizarrely, this is the first Super League meeting between the two sides this season while some other teams have met each other three times already. But on the basis of last week's results this is a tricky one to call.
I tipped Wakefield to win at Hull FC and switched off at half-time thinking we had predicted it bang on. We had Huddersfield with a 20-point start at Wigan on the handicap 3-way too, and... you guessed it - the Giants lost by exactly 20.
So what is likely to happen this week? I still think Trinity will travel well despite that second-half Hull horror show. Their best performances this season have mostly been on the road. So I am going with Wakefield to grab a much-needed win in their play-off push, but I am not expecting it to be easy.
A Wakefield win by 1-12 points is tempting at 19/10 but I'm leaning towards sitting on the handicap of 8 points at 1/1.

Jacob Gagai anytime tryscorer @ 5/4
Tom Johnstone and Lewis Martin were my two picks for a try in Wakefield's trip to Hull last week. We went with Johnstone, who ended up missing the game through injury. And, of course, Martin instead crossed for his customary try.
This week I would be looking at either Wakefield wide man. Lachlan Walmsley will play again, and he is 4/5 to cross anytime. Jayden Myers is available at 10/11.
But I'm expecting both sides to score, so even though I am tipping a Wakefield win I think the value in the tryscorer market is with the home side.
After a try at Wigan last week, Jacob Gagai is my selection at 5/4.
Interestingly Evalds' return could see Tui Lolohea competing for his place and as such is a 3/1 shot for a try in 80 minutes. Worth a look if you are expecting him to start.
