Eels vs Warriors Prediction: Lofi the value bet at 6/1 for excelling Warriors

The compelling unpredictability of the NRL Premiership will be put to the test on Saturday when the second-placed New Zealand Warriors travel to CommBank Stadium to face the Parramatta Eels, who are third bottom (17:30 local, 08:30 BST, Sky Sports Action).
The Warriors came from behind against the Dolphins in Round 8, maintaining their position as the Panthers’ nearest competitors in the process. Read on for my Eels vs Warriors predictions, complete with the latest team news and match odds from Betfred.

The 3-5 Eels are 7/4 to record a fourth victory of the season, with the Warriors heavy favourites at 1/2.
It’s 16/1 for golden-point extra-time to be needed to separate the sides.
Team News
Jason Ryles asks the same squad to go again after Sunday’s second-half collapse against the Sea Eagles at Brookvale.
That means Dylan Walker is in the mix despite not reappearing after the interval due to an arm problem.
Jordan Samrani will have been hoping to return from a knee injury but is only listed among the reserves.
Ali Leiataua and Mitch Barnett are both out of contention for Drew Webster’s Warriors due to concussion protocols, so in come Adam Pompey at centre and Tanner Stowers-Smith on the bench.
Eddie Ieremia-Toeava and Luke Metcalf are the extra subs, with the latter seeking a return from a hamstring issue which has kept him out of the last three matches.
Te Maire Martin is being held back among the reserves for now as his continues his recovery from a leg injury.
Handicap 2-way: Warriors -6.5 @ 20/21
I’ve never been one to blindly back the Warriors on their travels. More often than not during their NRL history they have been far better at home than they have on the road.
But when they have been at their very best, it hasn’t mattered so much where they have been playing. And right now, they look like the real deal.
As such, I have to believe they will have more than enough for an Eels side who have shown no consistent quality so far this term.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira First Tryscorer @ 6/1
Lofi Khan-Pereira has to be one of the most watchable attacking talents in the NRL.
After 53 tries in 54 games with the Gold Coast Titans, the scintillating winger has started life with the Warriors brilliantly. He has recorded try doubles in his last two fixtures, including a couple of great finishes in the 20-18 win over the Dolphins last week.
That has helped to narrow his value in the Anytime market, so I’m willing to plump for a selection in the First Tryscorer bracket. At 6/1, he’s a great shout to open the scoring with the Warriors likely to need to stretch the Eels in order to form a gap early on in proceedings.
