Catalans were thumped at Wakefield last week, but they welcome a Warrington side to the Stade Gilbert Brutus on Saturday evening (18:00, live on Sky Sports +) who had a difficult night of their own last Friday.

Our rugby league tipster George Riley shares his Catalans Dragons vs Warrington Wolves predictions, complete with the latest odds and team news.

Catalans Dragons vs Warrington Wolves Odds

Betfred's traders make Warrington 8/15 favourites to return from France with two points, while the hosts are 13/8. The draw is an 18/1 shot.

Wire trio Josh Thewlis, Jake Thewlis and Matt Duffy are all 9/1 to open the scoring, and 10/11 to do so anytime.

Team News

Catalans boss Joel Tomkins makes one change to his squad after last weekend's awful trip to West Yorkshire.

The Dragons have Matthieu Laguerre back after two weeks out through injury, but remain without captain Ben Garcia who serves the final game of a four-match ban.

Still missing are Elliott Whitehead, Reimis Smith and Tariq Sims.

Warrington head coach Sam Burgess is without centre Roderick Tai through injury. His place goes to Zack Gardner in the only change to the 21-man squad.

Still absent are hooker Danny Walker, England winger Matty Ashton and youngsters Leon Hayes and Aaron Lindop.

Warrington -8 @ 7/5

This is a meeting of two teams out of form, even though the Wolves chalked up a victory last week at Salford. Blimey Warrington made hard work of it at the Salford Community Stadium. The handicap for that one was 38 points and in the end the away side scraped home by 12 points in a game they could have lost.

I was on the touchline for that game and the feeling on the Red Devils bench throughout was that the game was there for the taking. Ultimately they came up just short, but Warrington were given a real scare.

The less said about the Catalans performance at Wakefield the better. Any thought of an upturn in fortunes following that home win over Huddersfield immediately evaporated with another big loss.

This is a close contest to call, with very little between the two teams but I feel like Warrington, despite their form, are the better team.

Any side with Marc Sneyd and George Williams pulling the strings against a team who has been getting heavily beaten has to be taken seriously. I'm going to push the boat out too and go slightly beyond the handicap for a bit more value.

George Williams - Anytime Tryscorer @ 7/4

Two of my favourite Super League players of the past 10 years or so are on show in Sam Tomkins and George WIlliams - the last two England captains.

The wise money for Warrington scorers will usually be on the Thewlis brothers out wide, while I also like the look this week of full-back Matt Dufty. These pacey Aussies always like the hot games in the south of France.

My selections to cross in 80 minutes are either Dufty at 10/11 or Williams himself at 7/4.

For the home side, I would be looking at 2/1 Tomkins or 5/2 Laguerre.
