Wakefield are now in control of their playoff destiny and can take another step towards a top-six finish with a derby win at local rivals Castleford. (20:00, Sky Sports+)

The Tigers have nothing to play for, but could throw a massive spanner in the Trinity works if they are able to produce a big performance at The Jungle.

Team news

Wakefield head coach Daryl Powell is without forward Isaiah Vagana who picked up an injury in the thumping win over Huddersfield.

His place in the squad goes to Jack Croft who returns from a short-term loan at Salford.

Winger Lachlan Walmsley is back in the team after his rest last week, although that is a tough call given his replacement Matty Russell helped himself to two tries in the win over the Giants.

Walmsley replaces Noah High in the only other change.

Castleford have been abject since the departure of head coach Danny McGuire and only make one change this week. That sees key forward Tom Amone dropping out through an injury that will end his season, centre Sam Wood returning from injury to replace him.

Handicap 3-way Wakefield -16  @ 20/21

Castleford fans will turn up - as has been the norm in recent weeks - more in hope than expectation. Wakefield have been terrific since their promotion back to the top tier, and Wakefield's walloping win over Huddersfield last week would lead many to expect more of the same this week.

Cas-Wakey derbies should be a bit fiercer than that though, but with two wins over their rivals already this season this should be a relatively straight-forward away win.

The handicap at 16 points looks about right and I would expect Wakefield to beat that. Castleford's only motivation for the rest of this season is pride - and a contract for next year - which should at least stir some kind of performance here, but I don't expect it to be enough.

With Hull FC losing at home against Leeds, Wakefield are now in possession of that final playoff spot, so for Daryl Powell's men this is a must-win game.

It is a game they will win, with a bit of room to spare.

Max Jowitt anytime try scorer @ 6/5

Plenty of options to look at in the anytime scorer market this week, with Huddersfield starlet George Flanagan and centre Jacob Gagai my picks for the visitors.

But looking at the home side to win, I'm expecting points from England winger Tom Johnstone, fellow winger Russell on his return, and also Jayden Myers, who grabbed a couple against the Giants in July.

Oliver Pratt has shown real talent in the opportunities he has been given this year, but I'm taking a punt on full-back Max Jowitt this week, who helped himself to a try in that win at Huddersfield last month.
