Castleford Tigers vs Salford Red Devils Prediction: Tigers to find the win

Two Betfred Super League strugglers meet at The Jungle as crisis club Salford head to take on a Castleford side who were walloped by rivals Wakefield at Magic Weekend last time out (Kick-off 17.30pm).
Tigers boss Danny McGuire badly needs points and performances from his team and will see this weekend as the perfect opportunity to find both against a Red Devils outfit whose very existence is currently in jeopardy. Below you can find my Castleford Tigers vs Salford Red Devils predictions.

Team news
Castleford boss Danny McGuire makes a couple of changes, with French forward Jordan Dezaria recalled by the Catalans Dragons to cover injuries.
George Griffin also drops out of the initial 21-man squad, with Sam Hall and Cain Robb the two men to come in. The Tigers used their free weekend to give severa senior stars minutes in the reserve team, with the likes of Louis Senior and Liam Horne getting a run out.
Chris Atkin is likely to play against the team with whom he started the season prior to leaving due to their financial difficulties.
The big news for Red Devils boss Paul Rowley - on the pitch at least - is the availability of centre Nene Macdonald and full-back Ryan Brierley. Macdonald left Salford for a three-match loan spell with Oldham in the Betfred Championship, but played in only two of those games before returning to Australia to be at the birth of his child.
Rowley has revealed that the player is now back and ready to play. Brierley has been absent with a nasty ear infection but is fit and healthy for the trip to the Jungle.
Chris Hankinson did not return from injury last week despite being named in the squad so he could also return, but Ben Hellewell drops out.
Castleford Tigers vs Salford Red Devils Stats
- The Tigers won 22-14 in March
- The last four games between these two sides have all seen fewer than 12 points between them
Castleford Tigers to win by 13+ points @ 4/6
Salford games are currently impossible to predict unless you fancy backing a huge defeat, but this one might not be.
The return of several star names will undoubtedly boost the bedraggled Red Devils, but it is worth remembering they also fielded a pretty decent squad when they lost to Cas earlier this year.
I do think that for once Salford will not get walloped, but I still struggle to back them with what is going on off the pitch, and the word is that things are likely to get worse soon.
The Tigers won 22-14 in March and I fancy this could be something similar. The last four games between these two sides have all seen fewer than 12 points between them and I would look at something around the 12-18 point mark in this one.

Ryan Brierley anytime tryscorer @ 9/4
Ryan Brierley has been a big miss for Salford and he tends to like these games. The Scotland international has scored a try in each of the last three games against Castleford and is 9/4 to grab another here.
Popular picks will be Castleford's main strike player Innes Senior at 4/6 and Tex Hoy at 5/4 but I'm going to go with Brierley to try and spark some life into a Salford side who are not far off needing life-support.
