Rangers host Celtic in the first Old Firm derby of the season on Sunday afternoon. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. We take a look at where the betting value could lie in this feisty fixture.

Rangers vs Celtic Tips

  • Kyogo Furuhashi to score anytime @ 6/4
  • Over 3.5 goals @ 11/8

Team news

Midfielder Steven Davis is the only major absentee for Rangers heading into the Old Firm derby, leaving Michael Beale with a lot to choose from for his starting lineup this Sunday. Celtic, on the other hand, have a few absentees. Stephen Welsh, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki, Alistair Johnston and Oh Hyeon-gyu are all ruled out of the Rangers clash.

A point separates the two teams heading into this one. Celtic are unbeaten in their first three matches while Rangers tasted defeat at Kilmarnock on the opening weekend of the season. Games don’t get any bigger than this in Scotland and this historic fixture always tends to deliver goals and drama.

Kyogo Furuhashi to score anytime @ 6/4

Celtic fans were given a huge boost in the summer with the news that their star front man Kyogo Furuhashi had signed a new long-term deal with the club, staving off any speculation he could have moved to Tottenham Hotspur to reunite with former boss Ange Postecoglou. The Japanese forward has a good record against the Hoops’ bitter rivals with five goals in nine Glasgow derbies.

Kyogo has also found the back of the net twice already this term so he heads to Ibrox on Sunday in fine form, hoping to once again be a thorn in the side of the Gers. That is why 6/4 is a great price for him to score at any point during the game.

Over 3.5 goals @ 11/8

The Old Firm derby has a history of goal-fests and last season three of their Scottish Premiership meetings saw a minimum of four goals scored. These matches tend to have a lot of exciting end-to-end action and there is a good chance we will see just that in the first derby of the season. Celtic themselves have already been involved in games with four or more goals this term with their 4-2 and 3-1 victories over Ross County and Aberdeen respectively.
