Monaco are on course for their best start to a Ligue 1 season since 2017-18 if they can come away with three points at Nantes on Friday night. This clash kicks off at 8pm and we take a look where the value might lie in this fixture.

Nantes vs Monaco Betting Tips

  • Monaco to win both halves – 18/5
  • Over 2.5 Monaco goals – 9/4

Team news:

It has been an excellent start to the campaign for Monaco. They’ve picked up maximum points in their first two fixtures, a 4-2 victory at Clermont, followed by a 3-0 home win over Strasbourg.

Much of the credit for that start must go down to new head coach Adi Hutter, who is looking to rebuild his reputation after his unsavoury spell in charge of Borussia Monchengladbach two seasons ago.

His side have shown their appetite for goals, with seven scored already, which has moved them to the top of the table. They travel to Nantes on Friday evening in the hopes of extending their winning start to the season and they are facing a side who are yet to get off the mark.

As Ligue 1 has been revamped from this season, in the fact that the roster has been shortened from 20 to 18 sides, it meant that four teams were relegated last year. Nantes narrowly avoided the drop by a point, and it seems as though another torrid year lies in store for them.

They were beaten 2-1 by Toulouse at home on the opening day of the campaign and they lost again last time out as they were beaten 2-0 by 10-men Lille. It looks as though another miserable match lies in store for them against Monaco, who are currently firing on all cylinders.

Monaco to win both halves – 18/5

Hutter is having an instant impact in the microstate of Monaco and fans have been pleased with both results and performances. Monaco have plenty of players within their ranks to score goals, with four different players already off the mark in the league.

A likely scenario we will see unfold in this game is Monaco to emerge victorious in both halves. They have already done this in their two previous league encounters and they are about to face a team devoid of any confidence. The 18/5 price seems like very good value.

Over 2.5 Monaco goals – 9/4

As already mentioned, Monaco are in a rich vein of form when it comes to both goals and results in the early stages of the season, and this should continue against Nantes.

Four players have already netted in the league so far in Wissam Ben Yedder, Vanderson, Maghnes Akliouche and Takumi Minamino. There is quality throughout the side, so we can expect them to add more goals to their tally against their downbeat opponents.

Monaco have scored three or more goals so far in their opening two fixtures in the league and this will have only boosted the players’ confidence ahead of this contest.

Against a side that is finding it difficult to get off the mark in the league, expect Monaco to make the most of their current position and deliver another three-goal showing at the Beaujoire Stadium.
