Two Betfred Super League teams in desperate need of a win meet on Sunday afternoon, as the winless bottom two Hull FC and London Broncos lock horns at the MKM Stadium (kick-off 15:00)

But something has to give in East Yorkshire, and rugby league expert George Riley gives his Hull FC vs London Broncos predictions ahead of an intriguing Round Three fixture.

Hull FC v London Tips

  • Jack Walker anytime tryscorer @ 7/4

Team news

Hull FC have a lengthy injury list with over a dozen first-team players currently sidelined including Brad Fash, Joe Cator, Jake Trueman, Liam Tindall and Mitieli Vulikijapani. Forwards Herman Ese’ese and Franklin Pele remain suspended, with centre Liam Sutcliffe also now banned.

Better news for the hosts came with the decision not to ban Nu Brown after his controversial red card for an accidental head collision at Warrington Wolves last weekend. Experienced club captain Danny Houghton is back available after concussion protocols, and imposing prop Ligi Sao is available again after suspension. Carlos Tuimavave is also included as he looks to make a return after injury.

London this week added Huddersfield’s Fenton Rogers on loan and the 20-year old prop forward comes straight into the squad for the trip to Hull.

Hull FC to win by 13+ points @ EVS

Many are predicting another difficult season for Tony Smith’s Hull FC, but the fixture list hasn’t been particularly kind with an opening-round home derby against Hull KR followed by a trip to Sam Burgess’ Warrington.

This is a game they absolutely have to win against a London side held scoreless at home to Catalans Dragons last week, having scored just a single try in week one at St Helens. Indeed the points column is looking ugly for the Broncos already having scored four points and conceded 74 in just two games.

Even with a lengthy list of absentees the hosts will have too much quality for London, and this therefore represents a perfectly-timed opportunity to get some points on the board. Given that the Black and Whites have yet to click themselves, a win by 13+ points at EVS looks the best bet here.

The Black and Whites have found points hard to come by in their opening two games, and have incredibly had more red cards than tries in their opening two games of the year.

Those three red cards have hampered them massively, and they are boosted by the common-sense decision not to ban Brown for his baffling dismissal last week.

Of the two tries they have scored, full-back Jack Walker has been at the heart of them and scored himself last week. The former Leeds Rhinos youngster has been hampered by injuries at the start of his promising career, but this could be the year that we finally see the best of him.
