Ryder Cup 2025 Day 2 Betting Tips: Price Boost catches the eye

Team Europe head into Saturday of the 2025 Ryder Cup with a commanding 5 ½ - 2 ½ lead at Bethpage Black, where Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and the in-form Matt Fitzpatrick all played starring roles.
The visitors dominated the morning foursomes, quietening the rowdy New York crowd early on before going on to record a 3–1 win in the first session. They then took the fourballs by 2 ½ - 1 ½ points in the afternoon, consigning the stars of the U.S. team, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, to a winless first day.
It leaves Keegan Bradley’s side with a lot of work to do, and the pressure is firmly on the home side as Day Two gets underway.
Ryder Cup Day 2 Tips
- Bryson DeChambeau & Cameron Young to beat Matt Fitzpatrick & Ludvig Aberg
- Rory McIlroy & Tommy Fleetwood to beat Harris English & Collin Morikawa

Bryson DeChambeau & Cameron Young to beat Matt Fitzpatrick & Ludvig Aberg
Bryson DeChambeau is once again out in the first match but is instead teamed up with top fourballs performer Cameron Young. I’m picking them to take this opening contest, as they go up against the duo of Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludvig Aberg, who dispatched Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley with ease in yesterday’s foursomes.
Despite picking up zero points yesterday, Bryson was still among the strongest performers on the U.S. side statistically. However, he was hindered by Justin Thomas (the worst foursomes player of the eight who teed it up), and then an understandably nervy Ben Griffin in fourballs. In contrast, New York’s own Cameron Young played better than anyone in fourballs – where he hit the ball superbly and putted strongly.
Although the Europeans were decisive in their 5&3 victory over Scheffler and Henley, Fitzpatrick did most of the heavy lifting. With Ludvig also struggling during a poor fourballs performance against Thomas and Young, I fancy the Americans to get off to the fast start they desperately need in match one.
Prediction: Win for Team USA
Rory McIlroy & Tommy Fleetwood to beat Harris English & Collin Morikawa
Today’s second match out is a rerun of yesterday’s third, where Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood destroyed Harris English and Collin Morikawa 5&4. It was a third straight win for this European team in foursomes and a result that took Tommy’s own personal record in the format to five wins from five.
They both continued to shine in fourballs, ranking as the Euro’s best-performing players in that afternoon session. I’m surprised that this U.S. partnership – which rates as one of the worst possible lineups in this format according to datagolf – is getting another runout and see no reason to expect a different outcome today.
Prediction: Win for Team Europe
Xander Schauffele & Patrick Cantlay vs Jon Rahm & Tyrrell Hatton (Match 3)
A quick word on the other two matches and the most intriguing duel of the morning pits two proven foursomes pairings against each other, as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay do battle with Jon Rahm & Tyrrell Hatton.
Both of these partnerships picked up a win in yesterday’s foursomes. Rahm and Hatton beat DeChambeau and Thomas, whilst Schauffele and Cantlay earned that vital victory in the final match of the session against Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland.
Cantlay and Rahm then went on to play solidly in the fourballs, with Cantlay and Sam Burns halving their match against Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, as Rahm dragged himself and Sepp Straka to a 3&2 win over Scottie Scheffler and J.J. Spaun.
There’s little to separate these two teams. Their prowess in foursomes is well documented (with Rahm now 5–0–0 personally) and while the Europeans did beat their American counterparts in a repeat of this match-up in 2023, it looks too close to call this time around.
Prediction: Too close to call
Scottie Scheffler & Russell Henley vs Robert MacIntyre & Viktor Hovland (Match 4)
The third session of the competition concludes with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler renewing his partnership with Russell Henley, to take on Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland.
Each of these duos lost in the foursomes on Friday, before Henley, MacIntyre and Hovland all sat out the fourballs. Scottie did play, but as mentioned, he again failed to pick up a point, losing to Jon Rahm and Sepp Straka.
It’s difficult to know what to expect here. Scheffler will be desperate to get off the mark in this event, but he has to have a willing partner, and while they did team up well at the Presidents Cup last year, I’m not sure this team works quite as effectively around this setup.
MacIntyre and Hovland were among the poorest performers yesterday morning, though I still believe they’re a team that can work and it may just happen that going up against the best player in the world will spark them into life.
I would slightly favour the Americans, purely based on having a bruised world No. 1 on their side who will be eager to finally make his mark in this competition. However, there’s no great deal of confidence there, which is why they’ve been left out of my selections.
Prediction: Win for Team USA
