The RBC Heritage starts on Thursday, in weather that is forecast to be calm and pleasant throughout, which should result in plenty of low rounds at Harbour Town.
This week's field will begin their week in pairs, going off at 10-minute increments from 08:00 – 14:10. This could have resulted in some kind of draw bias but there's little in the forecasted conditions to suggest that will happen.
There is next to no wind predicted to arrive, with those out early playing in a mere 6mph breeze that will rise to just 9mph later in the day. Although the temperatures start off cool, it will soon warm up and ultimately there is no part of the draw that should be at a real disadvantage, meaning we can pick freely across tomorrow's tee times to find the first-round leader.

J.T. Poston
Start time: 12:15
First up is J.T. Poston. This usually excellent putter had struggled on the greens for much of this season but has found something over recent starts. Possessing an excellent record here, he can land the first-round lead at Harbour Town for the second time.
He has missed only one cut in his 11 starts this season but due to those putting woes, has managed just the two top 20s. He's looked largely good from tee-to-green, ranking 27th in this field and gaining strokes in his last four starts on the greens, he's surely close to a big week.
There is no more likely place for him to achieve that than Harbour Town, where he's recorded four top-10 finishes in six visits and gained strokes with the putter every time. He opened with a 63 to take the first-round lead last year and having shot further rounds of 64, 65 and two 66s, Poston's ability to score well at the course can be in no doubt.

Denny McCarthy
Start time: 08:30
Denny McCarthy is playing the best golf of his career in 2025. His results have often been aided by a strong start and having accrued a solid record in this event, he can hit the front early on Thursday.
McCarthy hasn't missed a cut in 10 starts this season; recording six top 20s, which includes a best of 5th in the Genesis Invitational. Whilst he arrives at this week after a commendable 29th-place finish at Augusta.
He's looking good in all areas, driving the ball with his usual accuracy and is currently heading towards the best season of his career in approach. That being said, it's that ever-trusty putter that has impressed most, ranking 2nd in this field in 2025.
McCarthy ranks 8th among this group of players in first-round performance, gaining first-round leads in the Sony Open thanks to a round of 64 and in the Genesis Invitational after a 68. He made his best start to this event in 2022, shooting a 67 to sit 10th thru 18 holes and having recorded two 66s and three further 67s here, he's well-equipped to find another low one tomorrow.

Tom Hoge
Start time: 09:55
Tom Hoge has been playing the best golf of his season in recent weeks and as a player not afraid to go low on Thursday, I'm taking him to make a swift start at Harbour Town.
Hoge has made the top 20 on five occasions this season, three of which have come in his last three starts: finishing 3rd in THE PLAYERS Championship, 5th in the Texas Open and 14th in last week's Masters.
His approach play has been his biggest asset, ranking 7th in this field and he's also found form on the greens in recent weeks, gaining strokes with the putter in his last four starts.
Hoge began the year with back-to-back first-round leads in Hawaii, shooting a 64 each time. He's recorded two first-round top 10s here, firing opening rounds of 67 in 2021 and 2024, and having shot a 64 last year to help him towards an 18th-place finish – his best yet in the event – he has the scoring power to ascend to the top of the leaderboard in round one.
