Ipswich Town to beat Sheffield Wednesday

It has been an excellent start to life back in the Championship for Ipswich Town under Kieran McKenna. The Tractor Boys have won four of their first five games in the second tier, scoring 11 goals in the process.

They impressively came from behind to defeat Cardiff City 3-2 last time out and now they come up against a familiar foe in Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. The two promoted teams from League One have enjoyed polar opposite starts to the season with the Owls only picking up their first point of the season against Leeds United before the international break.

While that was an excellent result for them, they are about to face one of the most in-form teams in the division and this looks to be a routine away win.

Sunderland to beat Queens Park Rangers

Another away victory we are tipping this weekend is Sunderland at Queens Park Rangers. The Black Cats went into the international break in style with a 5-0 hammering of Southampton at the Stadium of Light. Results have been mixed for Tony Mowbray’s side so far but it feels like they are starting to build momentum.

QPR picked up an impressive 2-0 victory at Middlesbrough in their last outing too, and they will also be looking to start putting a good run together. However, Sunderland’s attacking options far outrank that of the hosts and this should be another three points for Mowbray’s men.

Both teams to score (Yes) in Preston North End vs Plymouth Argyle

What a start to the season it has been for Preston North End so far. The Lilywhites are currently top of the table with 13 points, winning four of their five opening matches. They, along with Birmingham City, are the only side not to taste defeat in the league so far as Ryan Lowe’s team appear to be making significant progress on the field.

They will face a tough test against newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle this weekend. Steven Schumacher’s side comfortably beat Blackburn Rovers last time out and they have been hard done by in some of their results so far. There is a lot of attacking quality in both sides but the most in-form attacker heading into this one is Plymouth forward Ryan Hardie.

The striker is the joint-top scorer in the division with four goals to his name so far, something Preston will need to be mindful of on Saturday afternoon. Calling a result on this one was tough, but it feels like a game where both sides can get on the scoresheet.

West Bromwich Albion and both teams to score (Yes) vs Bristol City

Things off the pitch may not be very bright for West Bromwich Albion but there is a decent squad on the field and a promising coach in Carlos Corberan to lead them. Results have been mixed for the Baggies so far with two wins and two losses, but in their two victories they have looked impressive.

Bristol City have lost just once this season, picking up two wins and two draws, but one thing that their fans will agree with is that they don’t know what kind of performance they are going to get. Their summer transfer business was impressive but it feels like it will take some time for them to gel and get to where boss Nigel Pearson wants them to be.

This looks like it could be a close contest but we feel that West Brom should edge it with the attacking quality they boast in the likes of John Swift and Brandon Thomas-Asante.
