How to Bet on UFC Online

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Thanks largely to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), MMA has moved neck-and-neck with boxing in terms of combat sports in just a fraction of the time.
UFC presents great opportunities to bet, given the fact that the company runs shows most weeks of the year. The cards are expansive, with Early Prelims, Prelims and Main Cards for most of these events.
Whether you are a boxing punter looking to expand into another fight sport or a newly-converted fan of MMA, there are plenty of great ways to bet on the sport. Here at Betfred Education, we will take you through how to bet on the UFC. Below you can find out about the markets we offer on UFC fights whether you are betting online or on the app.
Betfred offers full-card odds for the majority of UFC events, meaning you can put an accumulator together if you want to keep the action going all show long. Here are the markets we offer on the UFC.
Match Winner
The classic bet and the simplest. The Match Winner market does exactly what it says on the tin, requiring you to choose the victor. Their victory can come via any means, whether that is decision, knockout, submission or disqualification.
This is a popular bet because of its simplicity and is also a common component in accumulators. Rather than trying to pinpoint the exact nature of the fight finish, punters will pick the winners of a handful of fights to increase value.
This market usually does not include the option of a draw, because that appears as part of our Method of Victory market.
Method of Victory
That leads us nicely to our next market, Method of Victory. This is where we get into the nitty gritty of exactly how the fight will be won and by whom. UFC fights can end in a number of ways and this market requires you to pinpoint not only the victor, but their route to victory.
Disqualifications are grouped with stoppages in this market, for example you can bet on Tom Aspinall by KO, TKO or Disqualification. By Submission and On Points are the other choices along with the aforementioned Draw. The latter is always the longest-priced outcome as draws are very much a rarity in the UFC due to the odd number of rounds and the scoring system used.
Round Betting
For those who fancy themselves as Octagon experts, this market asks you to pick both the winner and the round in which they prevail. The method of victory is wide open, meaning your bet is successful whether your chosen victor wins by knockout, submission, decision or disqualification.
The only elements that need to be in place here are the correct winner and the round in which they won, for example Tom Aspinall Round Three. The draw market is also available under this banner.
Will The Fight Go The Distance?
After many multi-faceted markets, we close on another binary option. This market asks a simple question; will the fight go the distance? The options are Yes or No. It could not be more straightforward.
The fight can end by any means in order for the No option to pay out and you do not need to pick a correct winner in order to win.
