The Premier League roadshow heads to the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Thursday night (19:00). Young phenom Luke Little has gone back-to-back in the last two weeks to rise to the top of the table above world champion Luke Humphries. Our Darts expert Sean Rafferty previews this one and gives us his predictions for the evenings action including a 5/2 BOOSTED double.

Gerwyn Price to beat Michael Smith @ 8/13

Price has been playing at a steady level all year but is only really starting to pick up some success results wise in recent weeks. He was beaten in last week’s final 6-3 by Luke Littler, which puts him up to 10 points and back into contention ever so slightly for a top 4 finish, however, he still requires another couple of runs to the final or outright wins sooner rather than later.

'The Iceman' plays Michael Smith in Birmingham, who he managed to sweep aside 6-3 in the semi finals last week. Price will look for a repeat of that 103 average here and Smith has only won four of his last 10 matches in all comps, so form still isn’t great for Bully Boy.

Gezzy has averaged 100+ in 12 of his last 16 matches which shows his level of play is going up recently, I reckon a 100+ average would see him win this match comfortably.

Over 9.5 legs in Van Gerwen vs Aspinall @ EVS

We usually get a pretty competitive match when these two meet each other - six of their last seven meetings that have been first to six legs have had over 9.5 legs, which is what we require here.

Both players have been playing to a pretty similar level recently - MVG is only averaging a couple points more since the start of March. 'The Asp' has averaged 100+ in four of his last 10 PL matches and this seems to be where he’s finding his best form, as he continues to climb the table.

Aspinall has won his opening match of the night in PL in six of the last seven weeks, so he’s likely to win here or certainly push MVG very close. Even money for 10+ legs can’t be sniffed at where these two are concerned.

The Double has been generously boosted from 9/4 to 5/2 by the Betfred traders.
