Premier League Darts 2025 Glasgow Predictions: Boosted double for night two

The Premier League is underway, with world number one Luke Humphries winning week one in Belfast but can he follow that up with a win in Scotland? Our darts expert Sean Rafferty has given us his picks for this Thursday in Glasgow. So, without further ado, here are his Premier League Darts 2025 Glasgow predictions.
Premier League Darts Glasgow Tips
- 1 unit Michael van Gerwen Night 2 Winner @ 13/2
- Gerwyn Price to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 8/13
- Rob Cross +3.5 Hcp vs Luke Littler @ 2/5
1 Units Boosted Double @ 5/4 7/4
1 unit Michael van Gerwen Night 2 Winner @ 13/2
I think this week may be a good time to jump on MVG to go all the way and pick up the £10,000 weekly prize money. Mighty Mike decided to sit out of the Players Championship events in Wigan at the start of the week, so should be coming into night two of Premier League action feeling fresher than some of his counterparts.
He can count himself very unlucky not to have been in the final last week, having won a match littered with absolute quality against Luke Littler, winning 6-5 with a 106 average and that was despite missing thirteen darts at double. He managed to fend off a 114 average from Littler in the process, which suggests he is in form capable of beating the best players playing close to their very best. He then somehow managed to lose 6-5 against Luke Humphries, despite completely outscoring the world number one, again doubles were the weakness for MVG.
He’ll need to scrub up on his finishing a bit but if he scores the same as last week he has a great chance of doing the job. He plays Stephen Bunting first who he boasts a very strong record against, winning 18 of their 20 previous meetings. If he comes through that match then he’ll face one of Cross or Littler - he has a very decent record against Cross also and just beat Littler so won’t be phased at the prospect of facing him, he has a better record against the teenager than most too.
I think the Green Machine could get a good bit of backing from the Scottish crowd in Glasgow up against the English players, this could help see him over the line if he puts himself in the position to win at very appealing odds of 13/2.

Gerwyn Price to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 8/13
I have to say I was absolutely delighted to see Gerwyn Price get over the line in Wigan on Tuesday, picking up his first ranking title since November 2023, as he won the second Players Championship event of the year. It’s been coming in all honesty, Price has been talking up his own game for a while now and he’s finally managed to back it up with a title. Perhaps this new positive attitude the Welshman has been showing is beginning to pay off and isn’t getting as down on himself after defeats, which he’s been guilty of in the past.
The Iceman went on an impressive string of results on Tuesday - beating the likes of Littler, Schindler, Clayton, Searle and Dobey on his way to victory. He averaged 98+ in six of his seven matches, showing great consistency at a high level. He also had to fight back from 6-3 down against Dobey in the final, another example of him keeping his emotions in check and recovering from positions he perhaps wouldn’t have this time last year. He also posted on his social media at the weekend, showing off a 6-1 victory he had against Luke Humphries at an exhibition where he averaged 118, so it’s not a surprise to see him take similarly impressive displays into the PDC events.
He lost opening round to Dobey in Belfast last week on night one, so will be keen to get points on the board sooner rather than later. This looks a good chance to do so, up against Aspinall who is still searching for his best form since returning from injury last year. The Asp averaged below 90 in three of his four matches played in Wigan, nowhere near the levels Price showed. Aspinall was well beaten by Humphries 6-2 last week and I don’t think it gets any rosier for him this week against a player he’s lost six of his last seven meetings against. 8/13 is a good price for Gezzy to progress to the semis.
Rob Cross +3.5 Hcp vs Luke Littler @ 2/5
It’d be fair to say that things were looking a bit worrying for Cross after a very bleak defeat against Scott Williams at the World Championship in his opening match at the Ally Pally, which was then followed by an opening round defeat to Paolo Nebrida at the Bahrain Masters. You’d be forgiven for fearing the worst for Rob in the year ahead, but already he’s bouncing back brilliantly and perhaps showing he does still belong in the world’s top four.
Voltage won the Dutch Darts Masters from completely out of the blue, when you consider his recent form heading into that event. This looks to have given him a new lease of life on the oche as he’s backed it up by winning the opening Players Championship event of the year in Wigan on Monday. He seemed to raise his game when the stakes were at their highest - averaging 108.55 in a 7-3 semi-final win over Andrew Gilding, winning seven legs on the trot in that one. This was followed up with a 104.6 average in a dominant 8-3 victory over Joe Cullen in the final. This can only further boost his confidence and bring him to Scotland on high spirits. He lost opening round to Mickey Mansell on Tuesday so he shouldn’t feel too fatigued on Thursday night, having had more than 48 hours to recover from a gruelling Monday.
He faces Luke Littler who didn’t quite hit the heights we all know he’s capable of in Wigan, perhaps tweaking with his equipment and throwing action as he often does on the Pro Tour. Cross hasn’t rolled over against Littler often in their previous meetings - the pair met on five occasions in last year’s Premier League, with Cross winning three or more legs in four of they matches. That’s the aim for us here and I’d say he’s generously priced to do so at 2/5, given the recent form of Voltage.
