Gerwyn Price to hit over 2.5 180s @ 8/13

Gezzy tasted victory last week in Dublin, as he won Night Three outright. It felt somewhat strangely inevitable after he saw off Luke Littler in fine fashion in his opening match with a 102.64 average, receiving some good backing from the crowd for a change. He had to do it the hard way, as he then faced world number one Luke Humphries, who he beat in a more gritty match, before beating Aspinall 6-3 in the final with another ton-plus average.

Price will no doubt be feeling good coming into this one, having enjoyed a strong start to 2025 and coming off the back of a win against Humphries just last week. I wouldn’t say 6/4 screams value for Price to win against a player he’s only beat once in his last six attempts, so instead I’m opting for The Iceman to hit a few maximums for us.

The scoring phase of his game looks back to it’s strongest which of course has resulted in plenty 180s being hit - the Welshman has hit over 2.5 180s in 18 of his last 24 matches, the majority of which were first to six legs, the same as tonight.

Even over the past twelve months, Price is averaging 0.31 180s per leg, so usually only requires around nine legs to hit three 180s. I’d be surprised if this match doesn’t go at least nine legs, given the form of both is fairly similar.

8/13 looks a handy price for 3+ maximums when you consider the resurgence Gezzy is showing in his game so far this year.

Nathan Aspinall to beat Chris Dobey @ 11/10

I’d say Aspinall has actually been relatively unlucky with results this year and having a tendency to walk into players who seem to produce their top game against him. He’s averaging 95.30 for the year which isn’t too shabby at all, without having a lot to show for it.

He did make progress last week though, making the final of Night Three in Dublin, with wins over Rob Cross and Michael van Gerwen getting him there. This will relieve some of the pressure he was most likely feeling trying to get off the mark in the league table. He should play with a lot less weight on his shoulder this week. He also complained off having a bit of flu last week (it didn’t seem to stop him) which I’m hoping he’ll he over the worst of.

Dobey made the final on Night One but has since failed to record a win in the following couple of weeks. With both sitting on three points in the league table at the moment, it feels like a good opportunity for the winner to push on and challenge the top four.

The two of them are good friends, perhaps Aspinall is more comfortable playing against a good mate, the head-to-head record certainly suggest so, with Aspinall incredibly winning nine of their ten meetings, including the last four.

That edge on Dobey could be the difference here and The Asp is really decent value, priced as 11/10 underdog to get the better of Hollywood.

Luke Littler Night 4 winner @ 7/4

It’s taken me four weeks but I’m finally pulling the trigger on the talented teenager Littler to win a night outright. This looks like a better time than any so far to have a flutter on the World Champion to come up trumps on the night, with him sitting in what you’d have to say looks the more appealing half of the draw to be in.

Stephen Bunting, Dobey and Aspinall complete the rest of Littler’s half. Arguably the four other most decorated names in the field other than Littler are in the other half, in Humphries, van Gerwen, Price and Cross. Bunting, Dobey and Aspinall have only won two QF matches between them in the opening three weeks, so are all struggling to get to grips with the challenge of Premier League so far.

Bunting looks like a good opener for Littler, The Bullet is yet to record a win in the Premier League this year, so will perhaps be carrying a lot of pressure on his shoulders going into that match.

The Nuke hasn’t actually played a lot of darts in recent weeks, having swerved the Pro Tour action in Rosmalen last week - he’s only played the two Premier League nights in the past two weeks, so should come into this week feeling refreshed and I’m sure he’d love to go into the UK Open, which kicks off this Friday, feeling good about where his game is at.

7/4 feels a generous price considering he’s had much trickier draws in previous weeks.
