Tuesday's action at the Grand Slam of Darts sees the completion of the group stages, with plenty of places in the last 16 still be decided.

Betfred Insights' Darts expert, Sean Rafferty, is back with his darts betting tips for Tuesday's Grand Slam action and a Boosted double featuring a two-time Grand Slam runner-up.

Grand Slam of Darts Betting Tips - Tuesday

  • Gary Anderson -2.5 legs handicap @ 1/2
  • Jermaine Wattimena to beat Mensur Suljovic @ 2/5

3u Boosted Double @ 11/10 13/10

Gary Anderson -2.5 legs handicap @ 1/2

Anderson has made very light work of what could have been a tricky group potentially, with MVG being there and Ryan Joyce who just made the World Grand Prix semis last month. However he’s made it look relatively easy, thrashing Joyce 5-1 with a 113.20 average then following that up with a 5-4 win over old nemesis Van Gerwen, a scoreline that flattered Michael in all honesty, as Ando averaged 105.19 in that one.

This is a bit of a dead rubber match as Anderson has already secured qualification to the knockout stages, with Noa Lynn as good as confirmed bottom of the group. I’m sure Anderson will want to keep the momentum going though with another impressive win, he’ll be able to play with plenty freedom with the hard work in the group being done already.

Based off the numbers this week, this should be a walk in the park for The Flying Scotsman. I’ve already touched on Anderson’s numbers and they blow Noa Lynn’s out of the water - she’s only averaged 86 and 81 so far, winning a total of just three legs. The -2.5 handicap looks like the sensible approach here, giving us a bit of leeway for Noa to win a couple legs worst case, but I’m really confident Gary gets this won by 3+ legs at a very nice price of 1/2.

Jermaine Wattimena to beat Mensur Suljovic @ 2/5

Wattimena is riding on the crest of a wave recently, having spent a couple of years searching for form, 2024 has very much been a step in the right direction for Jermaine, with the past month being particularly profitable for him. He made the European Championship final last month, which was his biggest payday to date in his darts career. That run included a thumping 10-4 victory over current World Champ Luke Humphries and deciding leg wins over James Wade and Danny Noppert.

That recent success looks to have boosted Wattimena’s confidence further, having already wrapped up qualification through what looked like a very tricky group on paper. He made very easy work of seeing off the two big guns in the group in Michael Smith and Mike De Decker, dropping only three legs in the process.

He posted 97.5 and 104.32 averages in they matches and if he can repeat with a similar performance here then I don’t see him having any problems in seeing off Mensur Suljovic.

The only factor that could be a worry for Wattimena is the methodical pace of Mensur, which has proved a problem in the past based on their previous meetings, where Suljovic has a dominant record. But a lot has changed since then, Wattimena has improved and Suljovic’s game has really demised.

Machine Gun looks to have matured a bit and shouldn’t let the slow play frustrate him in a match he can relax in regardless of the result. He’s slowed his own throw down a touch in recent times which has clearly helped his own game. 2/5 is a fair price based on the stats for this tournament and the entire year.
