The darts calendar remains in Germany, as the PDC Euro Tour continues in Munich with Stephen Bunting looking to back up his win from last week when he was victorious in the International Darts Open.

As always, we've asked our darts expert Sean Rafferty to preview this event and give us his German Grand Prix Darts Predictions for the action this weekend. He has picked out an outright winner and two longer shots who can make the final...

German Grand Prix Darts 2025 Betting Tips

Gerwyn Price @ 10/1

I have to admit, I was absolutely torn between Price and Rock in this quarter of the draw, in my opinion they’re two of the form players inside the top 16 of the rankings at the moment, certainly on the Pro Tour. In the end, I’ve decided to side with Price, given his odds aren’t too much shorter at 10/1, in comparison to 16/1 for Rock. He’s won three titles already this year, compared to Rock’s one and recently won a cracking Pro Tour final against the youngster so may have the upper hand mentally if they meet in the last 16.

All three of Price’s titles in 2025 have came on the Pro Tour, where he’s been nothing short of excellent - The Iceman has only played in twelve of the Pro Tour events so is winning one in every four PC events in 2025 so far. He hasn’t won a Euro Tour event since 2023 so it’s about time he transferred that Pro Tour success to a European Tour stage. Up until then, he enjoyed some real success, racking up six Euro Tour titles between 2020 and 2023, baring in mind there was a lot less Euro Tour events played around the COVID-19 period.

Gezzy wasn’t at the races at the Premier League on Thursday night, losing out 6-3 to Nathan Aspinall. However, again there was question marks over the playing conditions in the Rotterdam venue and Price wasn’t backwards in coming forward when venting his frustrations about it on social media. I think we can safely say he was put off by the draught and write that one off.

Up until Thursday, Price had averaged 101+ in eight of his eleven matches, so had to be delighted with the form and has said himself it’s the best he’s played for many months, arguably years. He should take care of Barney in the last 32, that potential last 16 match against Josh Rock is absolutely crucial to his chances this week. It will be a tough run for the Welshman this if he’s to go all the way but at double figure odds, he makes it as my headline pick this Easter weekend.

Ross Smith @ 25/1

I just can’t seem to snap out of the habit of backing Ross Smith just now and that’s because he’s throwing some great arrows of late. Despite not being rewarded for my loyalty to Ross as of yet, the majority of his performances recently are enough to keep me interested in his chances.

Inevitably it will take a big performance from someone to get rid of Smith this weekend, considering he hasn’t dropped below a 92 average in any of his last 29 matches, arguably showing more consistency than anybody else on tour right now. The only thing he’s missing this year is silverware, he’s had six averages of 104 or more in amongst they matches, so if he can find a couple of them at the right time then this could be the time to end his trophy drought.

He made two finals on the European Tour last year and has already made a semi-final this year, so will be confident of another deep run. There’s some classy players in his section so it will be a very tricky task to go all the way in Munich, but I’d say that’s fairly reflected in his odds of 25/1. I’d say he’s the most reliable to average high 90’s or more at the moment than the likes of Clayton, Van Duijvenbode and Schindler in his section of the draw, so it was an easy enough decision to take Smudger in this quarter. Here’s hoping we get rewarded this time round as we’ve been backing Ross like mad recently!

Ryan Joyce @ 80/1

More of an outlandish pick to finish off, one done off more of a gut feeling as opposed to having a load of stats or numbers to back it up. The bottom line is I think Ryan is well overpriced here, as he often is in my opinion. He rarely gets the respect he deserves in the market, with a pretty appealing draw on paper for Joyce, this looks an ideal time to jump on.

It’s been a fairly quiet year for Joyce on the Pro Tour thus far, where he’s so often showed most of his consistency in previous years. It’s easy to forget that he actually made a European Tour final as recently as this year, at the European Darts Trophy in Göttingen.

The lack of impressive numbers from him this year seems even less relevant, when you consider that his highest average on the run to that final was only 99.74. It was a seriously impressive list of names he picked off too to reach the final, beating Cullen, Van den Bergh, Menzies, Cross and Van Gerwen. The draw looks a bit kinder to him this time - he kicks off with a match against Hungarian qualifier András Borbély, which should be straightforward. Other bigger names in his section are a bit shy of form in events away from the Pro Tour, such as Van Gerwen, Searle, Menzies and Heta.

Ryan’s record in these events with star-studded fields and big crowds have been improving of late in my opinion. 80/1 is far too tempting to pass on Relentless.
